For my mom...

If you could pray for my mom, I'd appreciate it. An X-ray has shown a small mass near her collarbone. She's going in for a cat scan on Monday to see if it's a tumor. I'll let you know on Monday what she finds out...I'm trying to be optimistic right now. Thanks in advance for your prayers.

Thank you Lorrie & Christina. You let us know how your mom is doing today too, Christina. (((HUGS))). My mom had her cat scan...now the waiting begins. I really have no idea when we'll hear anything. I told her she should call the office by 3pm, if she hasn't heard anything, just to see when she can expect. It may not be until tomorrow for all we know.

And you know, the mind is a powerful thing, I must say. She's having all these physical 'ailments' lately, and I have to think they're all related to her anxiety and near depression over what's going on. I think the mind can actually manifest itself physically and that's what she's fighting right now. And it's so interesting...this morning I was on the phone with her afer her cat scan, and she seemed down. By the end of the conversation, after leading her into other subjects, she seemed almost 'chipper' and was talking about how pretty the snow was as it was falling. She said, "you kow, I'm really feeling so much better!". I think a positive attitude has so much to do with how we handle things emotionally, and can actually 'prevent' the physical 'ailments' from coming to be. Just making an observance.

While going through cancer both times, this was the NUMBER ONE thing that was stressed to us.....Keep a positive attitude.......It is 80-90% of the healing process...in anyone's life.....

If you ever see any of those commercials about depression, where they ask, "Who does depression hurt?" "Where does depression hurt?" The answers are, it hurts everyone involved and it physically hurts everywhere.......So, keeping your mom positive is what she needs....keep her mind off of things and be there for her and be her support.......

That's interesting Rhonda, and it makes total sense to me! Yep, I'll be keeping her busy, that's for sure. She has a lot of church friends too---they get her out and about a lot too. Oh, and yes, I have seen that depression commercial---I believe it is very real and so is the pain associated with it.

Still no word, so I guess we might not hear from the doctor until tomorrow. I really didn't want her to have to go to bed tonight with this on the brain.

Sorry that I missed this Amy. I'll certainly add your mother to my prayer list and send the request onto the prayer circle at church. I agree that a positive attitude is important and I'll pray that she is able to maintain that as well.
