I hope that the medication is able to help your mom feel better. Do the doctors think that it is a seasonal depression? She will be in my prayers.

Thanks Teresa. She's never suffered from that before, but I guess a person can get that at any point in their lives. It's weird though because she loves Christmas and snow and right now it's pretty here. I talked to my dad earlier tonight and he said he can see that she's gotten only worse since her fall last February, that her body just hasn't been the same.

Amy, I'm sorry I didn't see this sooner Prayers are going up for your mom. I hope the medicine helps your mom to feel better. We felt the same way about my dad taking medicine last year, I think what he takes is called Paroxatine (not sure on the spelling, I have to check), he just started taking it again. It's very mild, and helps maintain the level of serotonin in his brain, which is what was being depleteted with the SAD.

I really hope your mom starts feeling better - it's so hard watching a parent go through something like this. I never really thought of him as being "old" before, but when he is coping with the depression, he seems old. Like a totally different person.
