| This was a good episode, a little sad for my taste, but I liked seeing everyone get together to help get Carrie out. I thought maybe the town would have listened to that man - I cant remember his name - the first time. I am sure they would have taken all procautions necessary. But Carrie made it out so I am satisfied. Sometimes life throws you under the bus. You gotta hold on for dear life. Don't waste one single day. ============================================================================================== I wonder how I find myself with the greatest boy ever! <3 He loves me in spite of my issues. | |

| I am not a huge fan of the earlier seasons, but this has got to be one of my all time favorite episodes. The acting in it was just phenominal! It really makes you go through a lot of emotion along with the characters. LETS GO PENS! | |

| Terrific acting! Karen Grassle put tears on my eyes when she performs a desperate mother who is almost close to become crazy, for she knows her little daughter is suffering and could even die... Karl Swenson also did a great work as Lars Hanson, when he was extremely in anguish remembering the woman he had loved so deeply and that was now dead. Vanesa. | |

| Just saw this episode today after reading the comments here last week. Sweetkrissy made the comment of the whole town coming together and that was nice to see. Nels urgent call, 'go to the storeroom and get what you need!!' was perfect. Did you notice Harriet was nowhere to be found in this episode? She would have been there with her ledger marking down every item that was needed for Carries rescue as the men took them off the shelves. Caroline, with her head pressed to the ground after believing her baby was dead was a kick in the heart. Well shot. Hanson got a great part in this episode and played it well and the redemption at the end was expected but fit well. "Willie, were you or were you not looking at the corsett ads in the catalogue?" - Nels | |

| oh right,Never noticed that "Harriet" was missing in this esp.
I don't mean to sound like I'M blaming the girls.Cause i really don't think it's anyones fault. The girls should of paid more attention to her. you know little kids will alway's wounder off has soon has you turn your back. “Tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it... Yet.” ― L.M. | this is a good & sad episode. Well done, of Karen Grassle acting. They very good job, having Sidney or Lindsay of wearing dirt make-up Unless ML told one of the twins to get dirty in the mud.
I was glad, Charles, Isiah, & Nels listen to that one guy (Who had a drinking problem.)

| As many times I have seen the episode, I never noticed Mrs.Oleson was missing in the episode. Joe is right, Mrs.Oleson would have written down all the equiptment taken out of the store room that was used to save Carrie. Karen did a great job as a worried mother. It was heart breaking seeing her lying on the ground after the cave in and Dr.Baker saying the whole thing caved in and it was no use. If Carl hadn't been there and mentioned that Mr.Laudy was right about Carrie being in a mine shaft, Carrie would have died because no one believed Mr.Laudy. | |

| Aww..I don't think Harriet would have done that. To be honest, I was talking to another fan and she said when it counted, Harriet would be kind. Blizzard, storms, etc. Even though she wanted recognition she offered to get the church/school bell, help the blind school rebuild. I remember her telling Caroline she could have a dress half price for her reunion and it was only because Caroline laughed hysterically at the thought of Harriet not having her reunion yet, she took the offer back (and the fact Grace broke something)
Granted she was more mean and snarky most of the time, but give her her due as they say, she had her moments.

It was a little as if she plated to be mean . Nellie was meaner than her mother...and Nancy was meaner than Harriet and Nellie together... Vanesa.

| I wish we could have seen Mr. Loudy's character again, maybe when his daughter visited. I realize he was a big star but once more to show him working and cleaned up.
I like how Karen really got to stretch her role in this show, as a mother, it's your worst nightmare not to be able to help your child. She went through a gamet of emotions. Some of the best shows are depicting everyone helping each other, whether it's the adults or children, as with Tinker Jones. That feeling is something the world needs more.

| Just watched this one. I loved how Willie was so obedient and didn't even ask questions about what the emergency was....just did exactly what his father told him. His character really went through some nice changes throughout the series.
Lars did kind of bother me in this one. His refusal to listen to Mr. Loudy and to keep the men digging that other shaft could have cost not only Carrie's life, but also the lives of Charles, Isaiah, Carl, and Mr. Loudy, couldn't it?
Anyway, glad that everyone made it through alive. I think Carrie would have been a bit more beat up than she was.
Also wish they had used the Carrie character more. I feel like they didn't give the Greenbush girls enough to do to develop their acting. Carrie was really cute in this episode, too. I felt sorry for her when she so badly wanted to go with her big sisters and they didn't want her along.
