Nope, I didn't get to deliver it. But everyone on the Prairie here was THRILLED for Maureen that she got to meet Karen, and spend the day with her! That was so huge for all of us! You'll find that we're very much a family here - so when something big like that happens for one of us, we all celebrate. I LOVE that about this board. And yep! I did a drawing of Pa & Laura for one of our board members a couple of years ago:
That one was done from a screen capture, and those are SO hard to get detail from! Sometime I want to do another, with a clearer picture to look at for reference.

That is GREAT! Wow, good job. But where are Laura's braids??? Just kidding!
I have noticed it is like a family here... very nice atmosphere!
I will be waiting for you to do another one of Laura... This time make sure it is a picture of her with braids though!
About how long does it take you to do one of these?

It DID feel odd to not see draw her in braids! (It would have been easier to do!) And it varies. If the photo that I'm using for a reference is really clear, it takes less time. On average, about. . . 25-30 hours, I think. I usually have to do my drawing in small chunks of time, though, because of work and stuff, so I'm not really sure. It takes several weeks for me to be able to finish one. SOMEDAY I'd love to do this for a living.

Well I would love to see it when you do it... be sure to post it when you do! That is a long time for each drawing. I don't think I could have the patience for that! I always liked to draw, but I never was able to draw that well. The best thing I ever did was a drawing of some cats.. it came out pretty good.

Hi, Maria! How often I draw varies depending on my work schedule. However, I'm starting a new job soon, which will give me the luxury of being home every night! So I'm planning on doing far more drawing. (And crocheting, and cross-stitching, and knitting... ) And yes, I draw in my home. I don't have a studio. (I wish!!)
Matthew, I didn't know that you draw!

Nothing like you can, Savannah! I wish I could find my book with drawings (I did them many years ago) and show you a few. I drew a lion once and it came out great except that it looks like it is wearing glasses! If I find them, I will be sure to show you.

I'd love that!
If you get the chance, and feel inclined to try drawing again, books by Lee Hammond were amazingly helpful to me. Maybe they will be for you as well.
