| Hope everything went well with Lauren's surgery. I'm thinking of her and pray she won't be in too much pain. Spring is finally here, the lovely pink blooms on the "spray" tree outside my window are gone leaving a beautiful willow. | |

| Hi everyone! Lauren did great. The surgery was a long 5 hours, but with no complications. She even (very carefully) talked to Nathan last night on the phone. She told him to "Listen...." Then she let him hear the "beep" of her morphine button. That cracked him up. Here's the best part....As many of you may have heard Formor First Lady Barbara Bush is in Methodist Hospital here in Houston having heart surgery. This is also the same hospital Lauren is in. Well----they couldn't find a room for Lauren right out of recovery so they put her on the VIP floor. Four rooms down from Mrs. Bush! Lauren's mom was coming out of Lauren's room and saw Mr. Bush coming down the hall. As she stood with her mouth open he said " Who do you have in there?" She said simply " My daughter just had double jaw surgery." He then asked if he could come in to say hello. Lauren was awake so they took photos together and Lauren said he was SO nice and wished her well. Not sure when Lauren will go home....it all depended on how she did through the night. Nathan is itching to see her though. Thank you all for the prayers. This was something that Lauren and her family have known they would have to face for years. SO far everything looks promising. Its amazing what doctors can do! Have a great day!~~~~~~~~Gin It is the lack of Christianity that has brought us where we are. | Gin, I'm sorry that I'm late in wishing Lauren well with her surgery, but she will be in my prayers as she recovers. I'm glad that everything went well for her. That is really cool that she was able to meet former President Bush. That was so nice of him to go in and see her. | |

| Wow, how awesome that she got to meet Mr. Bush!! He's one of the nicest, most down-to-earth people....Even if you don't like his politics, after meeting him anyone honest would have to admit that. | |

| Lauren went home this morning!!! We are all headed out to see her tonight for a short visit. She has been basically told to stick with smoothies or babyfood for now. I told her I would head out to find some Blueberry Buckle ( that was Nathan's favorite! ) LOL Continue to pray for her to heal. She has not hit any bumps for now and I hope she won't at all. She is a senior this year in HS and already has triple early release so she isn't missing much at all. Besides she is an honor student...could probably TEACH the class!!! Thanks you guys.... | Wow, she got to meet a former president!! How exciting, and for her mom as well!! I would have about keeled over, just nonchalantly standing in the door or my kid's hospital room and seeing a former president walking down the hall!! :faint2: Now THAT doesn't happen every day! I'm happy to Lauren is doing well, Gin! Great that she's so far ahead in school too...she'll be just fine. I will continue to pray for her throughout her recovery. “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

| Glad to hear all went well with Lauren's surgery and that she's gone home. How neat that she got to meet Mr. Bush. When my father-in-law had his quadruple bypass surgery they gave him the president's suite, but he didn't meet anyone there. Darn! LOL!
We'll continue our prayers for a speedy and easy recovery. | |

| Wow! My friend had this same surgery, and it was pretty traumatic! Something went wrong with hers and she had to have her saw set. They also gave her some medicine and she slept almost for four days, only to get up eat then take more medicine to sleep some more!! I am glad things went well! Sometimes life throws you under the bus. You gotta hold on for dear life. Don't waste one single day. ============================================================================================== I wonder how I find myself with the greatest boy ever! <3 He loves me in spite of my issues. | |

| Lauren continues to improve. She has a bit MORE swelling, but I think that is normal. Her main problem now is boredom. She is used to being busy and this down time is starting to get to her. My guys are on Spring Break next week so I think I will bring her over and let her lay around at our house for a day. She has been sending major emails to Nathan, but now is trying to talk some. She has to stop when it starts to hurt though. Not sure when she will go to the Doc. again, so I will let you know that soon. Keep praying ,she is slowly healing. Thanks.....Gin It is the lack of Christianity that has brought us where we are. Not a lack of churches or religious forms but of the real thing in our hearts. LIW.....Words From a Fearless Heart | |
