Turn out. Take action. Be part of this historic event. March 28, 2009, 8:30 pm local time
World Wildlife Fund is asking individuals, businesses, governments and organizations around the world to turn off their lights for one hour – Earth Hour – to make a global statement of concern about climate change and to demonstrate commitment to finding solutions.

Thanks, Carol.
I was really pleased to see a news report last night saying that the schools here are starting to be more careful to conserve energy. It has more to do with budgeting than conservation, but it has a double benefit, anyway.

Oh, that's neat! You know, I'm seeing more and more businesses focused on saving energy. Many stores I shop in have dimmed their lighting, to the point some seem almost dark! I'm impressed that Walmart now has it where their freezer section is on automatic lighting---each one only lights up when it senses someone. They're also one of the stores that is now turning a lot of overhead lights out completely.
