PostSubject: Just checking in.   Just checking in. EmptyWed Apr 15, 2009 2:50 am

Hello, friends. Wave

Just wanted to check in to let you know I'm still around. I've been busy and not feeling too well, but it's nothing serious. Other than not feeling too well, I have more dental work to come. OhMy I'm so tired of this! I went in for a cleaning last Wednesday, and they found a filling that's cracked and there looks to be a cavity and possible infection close to the nerve. I go in today for the filling. The dentist hopes to get to it and save it to prevent another root canal. God knows I don't want any more root canals!

If I hadn't seen it on the X-ray, I'd wonder if they were just after the money, you know? I was told that they want to keep an eye on another tooth as it looks to have some slight infection near the root, too. It has to be due to all the medication that I take that messes up my teeth. My goodness! I hate all of this, but I'm still thankful to God for allowing me to have as my teeth.

I know I owe some PM replies. I haven't forgetten you and will reply in full when I get a chance. Maybe it'll be sometime tomorrow.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Love ya!

Glad to see you again. Feel better soon! I know how dental work can go, and it takes awhile to feel right again. The key to good dental care(I've found) is to go to a dentist you can trust. If you question anything, you may be at the wrong person. Take care....

Nice of you to check in LM...sorry you haven't been feeling well, and more dreaded dental work on the way. My hubby had to have an emergency root canal yesterday, and I'm getting my crown next week, so I hear ya! Blue

Good to hear from you, LM. I'm sorry you haven't been feeling well and have this dental work to deal with. I'm way overdue for a dentist check-up myself and I'm kind of nervous about it, never did like going to do the dentist. Hope all goes well!

Hello, everyone.
Thanks for the warm greetings.

I'm still not feeling well, but it's not due to the dental work.

Some of you know that I have Mitral Valve Prolapse aka MVP (mitral valve doesn't pump the blood to/from the heart as it should), but I've lived with it all my life and never had any surgery. I take meds and have to keep from getting overly tired, hot and stressed.

I'm not so sick that I'm in the hospital, but I've been having a rough time of it for about a month. My heart has been acting really goofy, lately. I had a stress test two weeks ago Thursday, and it really sent me for a loop after I'd been feeling bad to begin with. I had to go to the cardiologist that Tuesday to get a holter monitor to wear overnight and have my heartbeat monitored. When I went back that Wednesday morning to have the monitor taken off, the nurse did another EKG after I told her my heart was skipping and pounding and I was having some pain. She called when I got home and said my cardiologist went over my results and said I have to see a specialist on Birmingham, AL in the heart clinic. My heart is doubling up beats on the first beat, having one normal beat, and then skipping what should be the third beat. It only stops beating for one 1.0 to 1.2 seconds, but that's enough. It's done that often enough before this issue came about. It's not a great feeling and can make me me feel like my entire upper body is trembling at times.

Thankfully, I don't have to shut down...just take it easy on anything that'll get my heart rate up for a while, so no quicker pace than a basic walk. That means I won't be able to do any belly dancing (was hoping to start teaching in a few weeks) until I get the green light from the doctors, and I don't even know when my general doctor, my cardiologist and the specialist in B'ham will get everything into motion. My doctor's office is closed today, so I still don't know anything.
They believe I have Premature Ventricular Contractions (PVC). Some people with Mitral Valve Prolapse Syndrome tend to get this condtion. Since I already have the MVP....The most common treatment for those who haven't had a heart attack or heart surgery, would be Cardioversion.... to attach electrodes to the chest and give small shocks to the heart to regulate the beating. As long as they don't start talking about pacemakers, surgery or having to attach the electrodes directly to my heart, then I think I can manage. It'll be an out-patient procedure, so no admitting into the hospital. Supposedly, they give you something that'll make you sleep through the procedure, so I'm thinking it's gonna hurt Huh? and I'll probably be sore when I wake up. I really don't know for sure.

It's very, very annoying to have my heart feel as if it'll jump through my chest and/or my back, and to feel the pounding in my neck, too. There are times when I don't think I'll ever fall asleep because it's so uncomfortable and nerve-wrecking at times. I had several hours yesterday where I felt totally fine. What a great feeling! I'm hoping and praying that the procedure will get me back on track. I need to go to Six Flags and ride rollercoasters in the near future. grinsmiley I love Six Flags!

I'm actually looking forward to having the procedure done because I'm so, so tired of feeling tired and having the pain and discomfort. It's trying to cut into my creative time, and I'm not having that! Noooo! I have stories to write, websites to host, wedding plans to take care of for my brother and his fiancee, dance performances, my photography, etc.

I'm sitting up and I feel the pounding and skipping in my heart, but it's not as horrible as it was a few days ago. Yay! Thank God! It comes and goes, of course.

Anyway, if you would, keep me in your thoughts and prayers that I'll have more good days than bad, that all will go well with the procedure and that nothing more serious comes up. Thanks a lot.

Love ya!

Thank you very much, Rob.

I'm not having any pain right now, but my heart is skipping a bit.

I called my general doctor's office and found that they're closed until May 4th. I'm very surprised that no one from his office contacted me about the procedure, yet. I guess I'll call my cardiologist tomorrow because I don't think it's right that I'm still waiting. It's making me nervous.
