| I was wondering what everyone had a preference over on the "older" episodes versus the later ones and in to A New Beginning. I perfer the seasons when Mary and Adam were still being show and Laura and Almanzo were together and married, but not the much later ones with Mr. Montague and the boarding house etc, after Caroline and Charles left. Just wondering general opinion. |

| Well, as a Dean Butler fan, I'm partial to Seasons 6 through 8. I like Almanzo's new hat and closer cropped hair in Season 9, but A New Beginning had some really bad episodes. It wasn't the same once the Ingalls family left and I wish more of the episodes had focused on Laura and Almanzo instead of the Carters. | |

| I prefer the earlier seasons but do like some of the later episodes. I always enjoy the episode where Willie gets married. | |

| I prefer Little House on the Prairie to Little House: A New Beginning. I didn't like that the Carters moved into the Ingalls home in the beginning of Season 9 and that the Ingalls weren't a part of the show.

| I enjoy them two , but I think my favorite episodes are from LHOTP. I just hated when Charles, Caroline and the children were sent away to Iowa...The show was not the same without them.

| "Little House" was not as good without Albert. He stole the show in "Sylvia", had great roles in "Home Again" and "Look Back to Yesterday" and was a sensational unsung hero in "He Was Only Twelve, Part 1". | |

| I have always enjoyed anything with Albert. He was brought into the show at a good time and Matthew was an incrediable actor. I love the episodes of Manly and Laura married, minus Jenny. I liked her when it aired but don't now...funny how an adults view changes that. I do wish the Ingalls had not moved, felt that they had already tried that and it didn't work. The Carters I did like but wished they had moved into Isaiah and Grace's old house. Loved seeing Willie, wished he had been given more to do toward the end. Johnathan was a good actor too. It is the lack of Christianity that has brought us where we are. Not a lack of churches or religious forms but of the real thing in our hearts. LIW.....Words From a Fearless Heart | |

| Yes...I wish that we could have seen more of an adult and married Willie. I think a character like hims could have done a great and affectionated father. And of course if the Carters would be presented living at Jonathan's old place it should be O.K...But replacing the Ingallses? NO! The Ingallses are the only ones that cannot be replaced in the show...and oh, wait! The Olesons? I think the Olesons cannot be replaced, either. I like Nancy's character, but I admit I missed Nellie so much when she left. Vanesa. | |

| I think the last season should of been based on Laura and Almanzo.NOT the carters. Some esp were just very boring.

| I did not mind the Carters, but not if they tried to make Mr. Carter be just like Pa, sort of the hero or whatever. I would prefer that the show focus on the Wilders but also could have episodes about the rest of the town characters. But it does not make sense for the little house just to sit empty. Would you prefer that the Wilders moved into it?
I would have preferred the whole Ingalls family (minus Cassandra and James) to continue to live in Walnut Grove and for stories to have primarily centered around both the Wilders and the Ingalls, especialy would have liked stories to center more around Carrie and even Grace. If the twins that played Carrie were not up to the acting, I think they should have replaced them with someone who was up to it.

| I think Missy Francis could have been a good Carrie (if she hadn't been a Cassandra first, that is). | |

| Yes. I think it culd have been a god solution. It always bothered me to see "fake Ingalls" to replace real ones. As for the Carters, I share what Amyk said. I wuld accept them as new characters in the town if the writers wouldn't try to replace the Ingallses with them. It was quite stupid to see Caroline replaced by Mrs. Carter, Pa with Mr. carter (the new Walnut Grove hero), Laura with Jason and Mary with Jeb. The similarities of characters was quite obvious... | I would have also liked more stories with Willie and Rachel. And it would have been so wonderful if Grace came back to Mr. Edwards! | |

| I like the Carters as character, but not to try to replace the Ingalls. I really liked the friendship of Almanzo and John, but not Sarah and Laura for some reason. | |

| My favorite is the early ones (everyone is so cute and innocent!) but I wish the last shows were more cohesive and not feeling like "this is the last season, let's just do it"
I missed seeing Albert except to have addictions and disease and Willie and Rachel never got to show their talent as much as they should have. The boarding house could have had some interesting visitors and Mr. Montague would have been a humorous sidekick to others if it stayed on. No closure with the Ingall's really. I liked the Carter's but not in the "Little House". I realize Charles had to leave, the actor's weren't coming back, but it seemed odd every time they showed it. I noticed a lot of night scenes and when inside the table would be lit, but you'd never see the mantle, maybe because of the initials still there from the Ingall's. One time when the camera cut to something on it, Mr. Carter stepped in front of it so you couldn't see them.
They put enough stuff in the home to offset the starkness of the Ingall's, but still, it will always be the Ingall's home in my mind.

| What I guess I never understood was why the Carters didn't live in town. Granted, they would have needed to add a building, but Sarah obviously came from money. She started a paper in WG. It wouldn't have been unreasonable to think they could have done what the Olesons and Mr. Sprague did--business in the front and a house on the side or in back. | |

| There were sure a lot of homes left empty by past characters disappearing. : ) I got the impression Sarah didn't want to use her Dad's money but it was a way not to have the Little House empty I suppose. Of course if they left it to Albert and he didn't have to get sick...and he could have met a nice girl....this could have went on quite a few more years! | |

| Good point....Albert could have married and lived there. After all Dr. Baker was getting up in years and needed a Dr. himself. Hey, we wouldn't have let LH end if they had just asked a fan for more material right? ha! It is the lack of Christianity that has brought us where we are.
