| I have a job interview next week for Head Start (a government funded preschool program for low-income families). I know it's just a job interview, but this is the one place I would really love to work at. It's a great program and encourages a lot of family involvement and support for the children and their families. I applied several weeks ago, and when I hadn't heard anything, I assumed the positions were filled. So, when I got a call to set up an interview today I was very excited. Anyway, just wanted to share my excitement!! | |

| Good luck Pam! I hope you get the job! Like Teresa said, you would be a great asset...they'd be lucky to have someone who thinks so highly of their program! “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

| The interview went well yesterday. There are actually around 5 openings, so that makes me feel a little more hopeful. Now it's just wait-and-see.
I came home from that interview yesterday to a message on the answering machine about another interview this morning for a child care center close to home. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that something, one way or another, ends up turning into a job for me. I am more than ready! | |

| Thanks. Yes, I'm hoping for the Head Start position partly because I think I will have a better chance to make more of a difference, and because it is a place I could grow and work my way up if I chose to do that. Today's interview went really well too. I was definitely much less nervous because it was just myself and the director and a much more laid-back atmosphere. Yesterday I was before a panel of the director, a parent, and a human resources person and they all got to take turns asking questions and they all had to take notes. So they were both very different experiences. The place I went to today is actually a very small center, which I really like. There are just three classrooms there and I would be with the 3 1/2 - 5 year olds. This is my favorite age to work with. It's just a few miles from home too. Really, I would be happy either way. I've been done with school for several months now and I just want to put all of my experience to good use before I get all dried up and rusty!! | |
