Ah, a lovely update on little Kara today!:

Kara's dad wrote:: Karagan had a great check up today, which included an Echocardiogram. She has grown substantially, her left atrium is back to a normal-ish size, the residual Ventricular Septal Defects are smaller, and the leaky valve is leaking less. All great news. The Doctor says he thinks she is "out of the woods" and does not expect any more surgery. If she continues to progress like this, she will likely outgrow the remaining issues.

It's been a while, so I thought I'd update you all on how "baby" Kara is doing. She sure is growing fast! Here's Brian's latest update on her:

Quote :: We had a check up at U of M for Kara today. More good news. Her valve leak is barely detectable now. Her Left Atrium is still enlarged due to all the work done in the Left Ventricle, but that was expected and is manageable. The Left Ventricle function and remaining defects continue to improve. She will now go off Diuretics. This brings her down to just one medication, which she will continue to grow out of. What a blessing.

And here's a picture of her from this weekend. (Brian posted this as a public photo on Facebook, so I know he wouldn't mind it being shared.)
