| The kids and I are leaving tomorrow to go camping for the week with my dad. It's a resort type campground that also has internet, so I may pop in here and there. Be back on the 22nd. | |

| Hey, I'm guessing it's not Brighton since you said "resort" type campground---I don't think that one is? But my parents are going to be there this week and next, and I'll be visiting them at some point! Also, we're going to go visit my friend's parents who have a park model at Lake Chemung resort in the summers while they're home from Florida..... Have fun Pam!!! Hope this humidity goes away for you, and enjoy that new tent! | |

| Thanks, guys!
Amy, it's Outdoor Adventures, in Davison. My dad has a membership and there are 5 throughout Michigan. It's a nice place, has all the typical camping things (trails, fishing, boating), plus the vacation resort type stuff (swimming pools, putt putt golf, planned activities and entertainment).

| Have fun....don't do like Nellie and Willie did and get poison Ivy!!! It is the lack of Christianity that has brought us where we are. Not a lack of churches or religious forms but of the real thing in our hearts. LIW.....Words From a Fearless Heart | |

It's a nice place. I've only been to the one in Davison, but I guess they are all pretty nice. There's a lot of typical vacation type stuff to do, along with the regular camping stuff. My brother and I get two free weeks of camping a year because my dad is a member, so that is a nice perk. We may rent one of the cabins late September with Tim's parents for a weekend get-away. - Gin wrote:

No poison ivy, but plenty of bug bites.

| Hey Pam, just wanted to let you know that my parents LOVE the Bishop Lake campground! They're coming home on Wednesday....too bad it's so stinking hot out there right now! But at least they had great weather last week. I went over the weekend with them, and really enjoyed it. It's very pretty! We like the upper level better than the lower---they are on the upper level and are enjoying it. Just thought I'd check in! | |

| That's great, Amy. It is definitely one of my very favorite places. The upper level is nice because it's more secluded and quiet. We always camp on the lower level because we end up going with a big group (seems to get bigger every year, lol), and that way the younger kids can get to the playground or wade in the lake near the campsites. Plus, my dad keeps his canoe down there and we can keep an eye on it that way. It is nice to wake up in the morning and see the swans on the lake.
If I ever end up going with just the kids, and hopefully Tim too, I think I'd try the upper level again. I haven't camped up there in forever, but I still walk around up there every summer.

| Oh, I can see why you do the lower level with a big group, Pam....it's perfect for group camping! That middle section is more open and flat. My parents are having fun checking out the Brighton/Howell area....honestly, I'm ready to pack up stakes and move there. I LOVE that area!! It's like a little piece of "up north", right here in central Michigan. And, although there's lots of country, they seem to have all the greatest shopping too! Both the downtowns are so quaint and lovely too! I would LOVE to live there!!! | |

| Well, one of these times that you head to that campground again, we'll have to figure out a meeting time---we are TOO close at that point NOT to meet! | |

| Definitely, Amy. I would LOVE that. It's only an hour drive for me. There's been plenty of times where I had driven out just to spend a few hours with my dad and the kids when they've gone camping in the past, or to take Kelsey horseback riding because there is no place around here to take her. | |

| Yep, it's exactly an hour for me too, so the perfect meeting spot. I noticed the horseback riding---maybe you and I could reenact the Laura/Nellie horse race. I'll be Laura. | |
