More heart trouble for my dad

Please pray for my dad. He went in for a few check ups and they found out that he has a leaking heart valve. So now he has to go some time after Thanksgiving for heart surgery. Please pray that all goes well. I worry about my parents all the time. I want them here for many more years to come. Please pray that all goes well for him.

Doctors have just about mastered all things heart related. I know that doesn't make you feel much better when it's your Dad they have to work on....but they know what to do for things like this. My prayers are with you.

Have him in my prayers. Don't worry about his age. One os my grandpa best friends must take this kind of surgery and all went without any trouble. He was 84 at the time.

Thanks everyone. He is in the hospital now and the surgery is at 7am. His cath went well today. He will probably be in the hospital about 5 days after the procedure. It all depends on what the doctor's say and heart team say.

My sister said my dad's face is going to be swollen and have a lot of
tubes after his operation. :( I am scared to see him that way.

Well the surgery was postponed till another date. It's because he had a few lesions on his chest and they didn't want to open him up and risk that infection getting into his body. What makes me mad is that they should have seen that before they sedated him. My sister who works for the doctor scared the crap out of me. She was saying how sad he looked when he found out he was going to be operated on, which made me sad and scared for my dad. Then she said he will be on life support for a few days after the surgery. She also said they are going to have to saw his ribs in half to get to his heart. I was a tearful, nervous wreck. One of the worst days of my life. :( And now we have to wait till a later date for him to get the operation. Luckily my dad seemed to be in good spirits. He will be home tomorrow. Please continue to pray for him and me so that I don't have a nervous break down. This really made me realize just how much I love my dad.

Sometimes too much information can really scare a person when it comes to things like this. I'm really sorry that they had to postpone the surgery. That's so hard! You get yourself as mentally and emotionally prepared as you can - and then BOOM - the tension is extended further. Your Dad is in good hands, though, Beckie. God is watching over him, and there are lots of people praying for him. I know that doesn't completely take away your concern, of course, because you love him so much....but there's a lot of power in prayer.
