| 1. What's your favorite religious Christmas song?
There are a lot of them that I really love, but this year Mary, Did You Know has been my favorite.
2. What's your favorite non-religious Christmas song?
It used to be I'll Be Home for Christmas, but now that one makes me cry. So now I think I'll pick White Christmas, since I love my snow so much.
3. Real tree or artificial?
I'd love to have a real tree, but we've always had artificial because of allergies in the family.
4. Do you/did you usually presents on Christmas day or Christmas eve?
When I was little, it was presents on Christmas eve at my Grandma's, Christmas day at home.
5. What's for dinner? (Christmas dinner, that is. I'm not inviting myself over. )
Christmas dinner is almost a replay of Thanksgiving. Turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, gravy, pickles, olives, homemade pies, desserts.....And my Aunt Janet makes an amazing turkey.
6. Will you be at your home on Christmas, or are you going away for Christmas?
Most of my family is going about 70 miles from home to my aunt's house for Christmas dinner this year.

| 1. What's your favorite religious Christmas song? Maybe you don't know it, since it is in Spanish, but my favorite religious song is " The fisher of mens", who is written in memory of Peter, disciple of Jesus who was himself a fisherman, but Jesus offers him to change her job to go to fish...men inestead of fishes. 2. What's your favorite non-religious Christmas song? A favorite song? I have two or three "favorite songs", but if I must pick just one, here you go: "Disculpe" ( Forgive me"), a song written in Zamba tempo (a folk ritm from Argentina; don't mistake it with "Samba" from Brazil. Is totañlly different). "Disculpe" speaks about a man who loves his country -Angertina - and gets angry with those kind of people who always admires what foreigns does. 3. Real tree or artificial? I wish it could be real, but no way living in a big city and in a flat. My tree is artificial, but it's ornments are passing from generation to generation. 4. Do you/did you usually presents on Christmas day or Christmas eve? Christmas Eve. It's costummary in Argentina. But we open our gifts just after having toasted with champagne or cider right at midnight, so, technically IT'S on Christmas day... 5. What's for dinner? The same that almost everyone in Argentina: matambre (a kind of meat roll, stuffed with hard eggs, carrots, greens and gratted cheese), Vittel Thoné (cold meat with a sauce made with mayonesse, cream , cappers, pickles cutt very, very little and little acid cucumbers), stuffed hard eggs, grilled pork (cold), salads , ice cream and then tu end the dinner nougats, panettone , hazelnuts, nuts, almonds and all this kind of stuff. To drink, wine with the meal and to toast, champagne or cider. 6. Will you be at your home on Christmas, or are you going away for Christmas? Usually, home. But we'll spend New Year in Cordoba, along with my brother and his family, whoare going to have their summer holidays there. Vanesa. | |

1. What's your favorite religious Christmas song?
Joy to the World
2. What's your favorite non-religious Christmas song?
Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree
3. Real tree or artificial?
Artificial
4. Do you/did you usually presents on Christmas day or Christmas eve?
We open one present on Christmas Eve, and the rest on Christmas morning.
5. What's for dinner?
We are grilling steak for dinner. It's something my dad did for several years, but we had gotten away from doing so for many years, so we thought we would try it again. I'm not sure what all we'll have with it. I'm debating on oven baked potatoes and having several topping choices (sour cream, cheese, bacon, etc.), or this cheesy potato dish I make. I guess I better get the menu figured out since it's coming up real soon!
6. Will you be at your home on Christmas, or are you going away for Christmas?
It will be at my home.

Usually it is just turkey, but my son and his wife, plus my brother-in-law and his wife will be here this year, so it's both. 6. Will you be at your home on Christmas, or are you going away for Christmas?Christmas has been here since 2000. We have the room, and it made it easier than traveling when the girls were little. | 1. What's your favorite religious Christmas song?"Do You Hear What I Hear" by Bing Crosby. In fact, I just won't listen to it by anyone else. As for a carol, though, I would say "The Shepherd's Pipe Carol". 2. What's your favorite non-religious Christmas song?"We Wish You the Merriest". It is a duet by Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby. A very close second is Ed Ames' version of "Let It Snow". (Yes, I am very picky about who I like to sing the songs that I like best ). 3. Real tree or artificial?Artificial. 4. Do you/did you usually presents on Christmas day or Christmas eve?Christmas Day. 5. What's for dinner? (Christmas dinner, that is. I'm not inviting myself over. )Just to change things up a bit, for the past 12 years or so, we don't have turkey again (and we save ham for Easter). So, for Christmas, we will be having (as usual now) Meatloaf and Lasagna. Our sides are generally the same as every other holiday, though. They will most likely be rolls, mashed potatoes and corn. There will be a little something else thrown in, too. I don't know what that will be yet, though. Dessert will be white cupcakes with eggnog frosting, chocolate fudge cake with chocolate fudge pudding filling and buttercream frosting, a banana pudding pie and a cheesecake. I tend to plan these desserts a couple of months in advance. 6. Will you be at your home on Christmas, or are you going away for Christmas?Home. I don't really care to go anywhere on holidays. Who's going to do the cooking?!?! | |
