| I would really appreciate prayers for a friend of my family who is dying from cancer (unless the Lord gives us a miracle).
He was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarocoma cancer in September of 2009. This is a rare type of cancer that's found in young men from ages 14-20. This friend turned nineteen a few months ago. Anyway, he had cancer on his hip and the doctors were able to successfully remove it. He then had to have part of his hip taken out and then replaced. He was told that he'd probably not be able to walk again and would probably have a noticeable limp. The hip that he received was a perfect fit and there ended up being not difference in the length of his legs. As he grew stronger he was able to walk again with very slight limp. In summer of 2010 he was cancer free.
In early December he began to be experiencing acute pain in his hip. He had an appointment and learned that the cancer in his hip was back. Then he had a full body scan which revealed that he has six spots in his lungs (four in one and two in another) as well as a two spots in tissue.
The doctors have said that even if the chemo helps they don't expect him to live much longer than this year. If the chemo doesn't slow down the cancer they don't think he'll live for more than a few months.
He and his family could definitely use a lot of prayer.
They do have a page up on Caring Bridge. I'm not comfortable posting the link, but if you would like to have it, send me a pm and I'll give you the link.

| So sorry to hear this. I know his family is really sad right now. I will keep them in prayer. I know its hard to watch this as a friend too. Remember the good times....I know he probably has touched your life as he has others. Its not over just yet...so prayer is important. It is the lack of Christianity that has brought us where we are. Not a lack of churches or religious forms but of the real thing in our hearts. LIW.....Words From a Fearless Heart | |

| I'll pray for him...He is so young! It's so tragic when one believes that a friend or a relative is cancer free and it returns! . Too much people is dying from cancer those last years... Vanesa. | |

| I am so sorry for your friend...I will be praying for him, Prairie Dweller. What a horrid disease this is. One of my parents' friends has just been rediagnosed with cancer as well, after 22 years in remission. It does not look good for her either. | |

| Thank you all for your prayers. I know the family covets them.
This family moved away from my neck of the woods about eighteen years ago. They've visited once or twice since then. Two years in college my brother and an older brother of the one afflicted with the cancer were roommates in college so our families had a chance to reconnect then.
In mid-April I shouldn't be too far from their house so I'm hoping that he'll be well enough to be up for some company.
Currently I've been working on a project to help give him cheer each day. I'm an amateur photographer and I'm planning to make him a page-a-day book. I'll be putting one photo on a 8x11 piece of paper and then will write something humorous that happened while taking the photo or just a story that the photo brings to mind. Some of the pages will include Bible verses or references as well. I'll mail the book to his sister with the instructions to give him one page each day, that way he has something to look forward to receiving each day.
I'm planning to put these into a binder that will allow me to put in my own papers for the cover. On those papers I've been asking people from my church that are praying for him write an encouraging note. If anyone here feels led to write a message I would be more than happy to include it on the cover.

| My friend with cancer recently had a scan done which revealed that he has more than twenty spots in his lungs (the nurse said that numerous meant more than twenty/they couldn't count them all). Some of the other tumors that he had that had shrunk are now even bigger than they were before. Radiation isn't an option and chemo could be done to help keep him comfortable.
This isn't the first time that he's been told that there's essentially no hope... it's definitely in God's hands- as it has been the whole time.

What a sad thing...It was exactly what happened to my granny. She had more than twenty little spots of cancer in her lungs, and adding to this, two big tumors, one at the hip and another one in the brain. She died a month after this awful diagnosis. But I'll keep praying. Miracles are ALWAYS possible. Vanesa.

| I know that he has tumors outside of his lungs as well, though I don't know where they are. I know that the one can't be operated on. I informed the family about noni juice and they told me that they would look into it. Whether or not they used it, I don't know. He did do a two week juice diet. I can't imagine staying on a juice-only diet for two weeks! | |

| An update on my friend...
he's been in the hospital the last few weeks as he's had a lot of fluid in his one lung. After many scans and consulting the doctors concluded that he had a hematoma in his pluera (the "sack" around the lung).
Yesterday they went to remove it and discovered that it's actually a large tumor that's in the sack, that's encased by a large mass of fluid. The surgery was then stopped.
So, my friend is in a lot of pain, and the doctors don't think things are going to go too well... which they have heard before...
The doctors are wanting to do a Talc Procedure on the upper portion of his lung to seal it from liquid.
