The Nephews

I Just received the 7th season for an early birthday present....And this episode was hilarious! Almanzo sure did not know what he was getting himself into now did he!

And this episode leads to another great LHOP inconsistency when two seasons later Royal returns a widower with 10-year-old Jenny in tow and no Myron or Rupert.

Wow! I didn't know that. I had forgotten all about Royal, but now I remember him---esp. from the book "Farmer Boy'.

I always found odd that the two boys had so suddenly disappeared from the show to introduce a young girl, Jenny, who was not mentioned before and that could not have been the baby who was born after Royal and his wife returned home...Do you believe that almost teen years could have passed between "The Nephews" and " Times are changing"? Rose did not have the same age than Jenny in LHOTP.

I think that the writers/producers were just hoping that viewers would not question the change in the Royal character/children etc. So I think we have to just look at this as a stand-alone episode and accept the fact that the writers went a completely different track when they re-introduce Royal in the final season. Even though they have the same name, it is basically two completely different characters. I don't like that because I do like continuity as much as possible, but it just is the way it is.

I read about the timeline conflict of this one Wikipedia episode list...

I love this episode though...

I agree. Is just funny, but I wish they could keep timeline time to time...

It is a hilarious epi though.

I would love to knock some sence into that mother. She was too soft on the children. You NEED to set rules and limits to children. Have to say NO sometimes. You can't let kids run all over ya. The boy's were such brats. Glad laura threw water over the,

This episode was funny!
And Myron and Rubert definitely needed to be told "No".
My favorite part was when Laura and Almonzo dumped the water on their heads...

I love this episode. Millie was way too soft on the boys. They needed to be told no. Laura dumping water on them was funny. They deserved it.

It was there he met and married Electa Hutchinson, who already had four children. Royal and Electa had three children. One baby died at birth, and baby Susie died when she was only five months old. The third, Bernice Angeline, attended school in Spring Valley, married, and then moved away.

One of them was naughty in the cockpit also.......

I guess the nephews couldn't have come to Walnut Grove...they already had their hands full with Nancy, that's a cute pic of him in Airplane...I remember when the first came out, a big hit.

Yes..My romatic thoughts, trying to link the books and the TV show in some way, were that maybe Bernice Angeline could have been Jenny in the crazy imagination of LHOTP writers...
