Do cats normally go away from home to die?
We are wondering if that is what my cat Sweetie-Pie has done.

I'm not sure; I know dogs do that; our previous 2 dogs did.

I'm sorry to hear Sweeti-Pie hasn't made it home. I know it has to be hard not knowing.

I think it varies, Julia. My cat, Arthur, had cancer, and he wanted to be alone when he died. We were very close, and I really think that he didn't want me to see him die.

How old is Sweetie-Pie? I'm really sorry that your kitty hasn't come home yet.

Wow, she isn't home? Well, cats are the funniest little things. They have such a curious side to them they could end up anywhere. Do you post flyers in your area? You should try that and see what turns up. Sweetie-Pie just might see one, pick it up and carry it home. "You lookin' for me?" Hang in there.

Oh! I wanted to add, too, Julia - my sister-in-law had a cat that disappeared for three weeks, and then suddenly just showed up again like nothing had happened. Hopefully, Sweetie-Pie is just having an adventure, and will be coming home soon. {{{Hugs}}}

I'm sorry to hear your cat hasn't come home. It's possible that cat will return. I had a cat that would wander off for days and then come back when it was hungry.

Sweetie-Pie is 11. Which makes her mother even older.
Whatever happened, I just hope she is ok or had a peaceful death if she died.
