| It looks like you're well on your way, Alex! It reminds me of my uncle's train set. He had one that covered his entire basement - incredibly detailed. He spent years building it. He eventually tore it down and a few years later it got in his blood again and he started re-building it. I learned a lot of cool tips from him.
I'm not sure if you're interested, but a couple of the tips that I recall are that he spray painted thread and use it for telephone wires. It looked great but it was so tedious that he said that he didn't want to do it again (that's what he said anyway, but then he made more :-P).
Another thing that he did was use little foam mountains beside the tracks. Those don't look all that great on their own, but he found some small artificial Christmas trees and/or garland from an arts and crafts store (on a big discount after Christmas) and cut them up into two to three inch lengths. He then stuck the wires into the foam every one or two inches (hundreds of them) and made a really cool looking forest. I'd post a photo, but the forum won't let me post an external link for a week since I just registered. :(

| Well the actual train models I buy premade(mostly)
The actual layout I've been working on for nearly 2 years I think.

| Alex, everything looks great. It takes skill and patience to do something like that...keep at it!
The model I've always wanted to work on is the Little House and possibly the town of Walnut Grove. I know a few have done this. I would love to do a snow/Christmas scene and have it out during the holidays. Maybe someday I will do it. It is the lack of Christianity that has brought us where we are. Not a lack of churches or religious forms but of the real thing in our hearts. LIW.....Words From a Fearless Heart
