| Tomorrow I sit my Driving Learner's Permit Test. I have to pass. There are 2 sections, the 1st has 8 questions about giving way that you have to get all of them right, and the 2nd part has 42 multiple choice questions on random road rules. You have to get at least 32 of those correct to pass. (Minimum age here in Australia for a learner's permit is 16.)

| And I failed. There are 8 questions re give ways, and you have to get all 8 correct. And I got one wrong of them. | |

| Sorry to hear that, Alex. How long before you can take the test again? | |

| I'm sorry to hear that, Alex. But with only missing one question, you should be able to ace it next time. When can you take it again? | |

| It seems kind of silly to fail someone for missing only one question. If they missed several, it would indicate that they don't grasp the finer points of driving. But anybody could miss one. Besides, I'm sure the answer to that question is burned into your brain forever, so what's the point of making you wait to take the test again? | |

| I said, there are 8 questions re when to give way and you have to get all 8 correct.
and then there's a multiple choice random testing on road rules, and you have to get at least 32 out of 42 correct.
I can retake it whenever I want...

| I know. But it doesn't make sense to make someone re-take the test when they've only missed one question. One miss doesn't imply an overall failure to understand the material. | |

What an odd thing...Here there's no test in which pupils must be 100% correct. I think that even a scientist can answer a question wrongly. Just think about Einstein. Vanesa.
