| We can't say "merry christmas" at work/school. If we do it may offend some one. Instead we must say "Happy hoildays". That doesn't sound too chrismish too me. I like "merry christmas" And iam gonna say it. saying that doesn't fource reglious on anyome.Nor do you have to believe in god or be a regliouse person to have christmas. The true meaning of christmas seems to have faded away. Christmas doesn't have the same feeling has it used to once long ago “Tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it... Yet.” ― L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables | |

Totally agree. "Political correctness" seems to be pervading every part of our lives now...

| Love that note, Rob!
I work with the public and always tell people Merry Christmas. I haven't once had someone yell at me for doing so. They always look pleased that I say and then they proceed to wish me a Merry Christmas.
My co-worker and I were discussing this one day and I told her that it offends me when people don't wish me a Merry Christmas. :b

| Today, I was out of town with my parents. This lady said Happy Holidays, instead of Merry Christmas I was annoyed by it. But, let it slip by. Wish her a Merry Christmas. I don't know, what's wrong saying Merry Christmas sounds more Christmasy than Happy Holidays. | |

| THis is annoying. I still use "merry Christmas" (in my country is "Feliz Navidad") and I don't think anyone could feel offended by this. I have a lot of non-Christian friends and I don't feel offended when they celebrates their religious parties. It's pretty natural for me they do...and I suppose it should be pretty natural for them I'm celebrating my own. Besides, I've asked to some of them about how they feel about the whole thing and they answered to me that they NEVER felt offended for I celebrates Christmas, Easter or whichever other Cristian celebration. I feel that we shouldn't be offended as long as no offense was intended. Funny you should mention that, because in the late 80's and early 90's I worked in a bank. There was this one guy who didn't celebrate Christmas and the tellers were forced to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, so this guy would grumble at us for the 4 weeks leading up to the holiday, "I don't celebrate Christmas." I think we would be in a heapload of trouble now if we kept doing that to him. | |

| I really love the message of that Christmas show that I recommended in the movie thread, called "Christmas with a Capital C". I think a lot of you would like it.
I think the whole thing has gotten really out of control.....when mayors start agreeing to call Christmas trees 'holiday trees', it's gone too far in my opinion.

Agree The world is bigger now. I mean, there may have been a time where in your town the majority of people belonged to the same church and everyone would say Merry Christmas. But with time, more people came in, different races and beliefs. So it's a little different now.
