Just watched this one. I have somewhat mixed feelings about it. While I am glad that the boy's parents stayed together and everything seems to have turned out fine, I do think it was kind of a strange and somewhat unbelievable episode. The first accident from the tightrope I can understand, and I can even understand Jordan pretending to be blind because he thought that this would help keep his parents together. But I think the second accident is a bit too much to believe. It feels kind of like a sitcom where someone gets amnesia after being hit in the head and then they have to get hit again in the head to overcome their amnesia (which I don't think is how it works in real life). While I recognize that Jordan did not regain his sight by being injured again, everyone except Laura (and possibly Jordan, since he does not remember faking his blindness) thinks that this is what cured him of his blindness.
I would think that Doc Baker also would have been checking Jordan's eyes regularly in the first few weeks and that he would have discovered Jordan to be faking, like if Jordan had to close his eyes to light. And also that Hester Sue may have thought there was something odd going on when Jordan was doing the cartwheels or whatever he was doing during the race. For someone who had just recently gone blind, that seems a bit much. It seemed odd to me that he did that, since he knew Hester Sue could see him.
And I do feel bad for Laura in this episode.....not just once, but twice, she thinks she is somewhat responsible for Jordan being severely injured.
I just don't really have a satisfied feeling even at the end of the episode. A part of me thinks that perhaps Jordan was faking about not remembering that he had been faking!
