Yes. I was thinking about it too...She was suffering since early childhood, and this was not fair from the writers point of view, because the REAL Mary suffered terribily, but not so much as her character did in the show.

Mary went through a lot. Not only surviving 2 operations, but going blind, suffering a miscarriage, being told she will never regain her sight, then her infant son died in a fire. John was a jerk for cheating on her.

Melissa Sue sure could scream. I hate to think what would have happened if Mary hadn't screamed when the criminal was walking towards her and Charles knocked him out. Amazing that with all the noise that Adam Jr slept through it all.

I wouldn't want to watch this episode at night when it's storming out. I would get the creeps. It's creepy enough without it storming for real.
