| Misti's thread about interpreting movies made me think it might be fun if we told about the last movie we saw, and what we thought of it.
Mine was Shane, a 1953 Western starring Alan Ladd and Van Heflin. One of the classics.

| On Moonlight Bay starring Doris Day and Gordon Macrae. The cast in this movie is wonderful, and I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. There's a young Ellen Corby (Grandma Walton) who plays a schoolteacher. Billy Gray, from Father Knows Best plays the younger brother.....and one of my favorite character actors, Mary Wickes, plays the housekeeper. I love old movies........ Rob, I haven't seen Shane in so long! I know I have a copy of it.......now where did I put it....... | |

| My 8th grader and I have been watching WWII movies since we just finished studying it in history. Tonight we watched The Hiding Place. It was very moving. | |

Mary Wickes is one of those people that a lot of movie fans would probably recognize but not be able to name. Kinda like Alan Melvin from Andy Griffith. I always remember Mary had a small part on an episode of M*A*S*H. She played a visiting nurse who made a grab for Frank Burns(!?!).Oh, and Ellen Corby was in Shane, too. So were Edgar Buchanan (Uncle Joe from Petticoat Junction) and Nancy Kulp (Miss Jane from The Beverly Hillbillies).

The little boy, Brandon de Wilde, was later in another of my favorite movies, Hud, with Paul Newman and Patricia Neal. He was killed in a motorcycle accident in 1972 at the age of 30.

| Borat...
It was funny, but discussing in some parts. I would not feel comfortable watching that movie with some people I know. It is also a movie I never need to see again.
I give it a B, but I warning that it is very gross. |

| We saw Spiderman last week, the entire family, my parents, nieces, nephews, the works! It was fun....and IMO, the best of the 3 Spiderman movies....well, at least right up there with the first one. Great special effects! “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”
