What is your opinion on rap music?

I personally hate it.

I Agree. Expect will smiths stuff is okay.

I pretty much hate most of it too, with a few exceptions.

I'm not a fan, but I can't say I hate it. Since it relies so heavily on words, rap has a chance to explore some really innovative, intellectual avenues. And there is some clever, meaningful stuff out there. But you gotta look for it, because a lot of mainstream rap seems to be mostly lowest common denominator type stuff, very banal and vulgar.

To be honest, I don't like rap.

I like some of it. When rap fist came it it was better than it is now.

90s rob was good.

I am only aware of today's rap, but I will tell you something, there sure is a spirit behind it and it is not good!

I only like Marky Mark & Will Smith. Today's rap is awful. How don't know, what people see in today's rap. When, they talk about well you know.

I like Snoop Dogg. I think he is a legend! His voice is awesome. The rap I like has to have nice music in the background. I also like Lil Jon, Nikki Minaj and Daddy Yankee. I have one of Daddy Yankee's CDs. It makes me get up and dance in my room, lol! Plus if he is talking bad in his songs I would not know what he is saying because it's in Spanish, lol. I love this song by him, it's not the bad.

The closest I came to liking rap was a Christian rapper named Tobymac. Then this other guy I can't even remember the name, but he does the song "My Heart's A Stereo".
Now I do not even like those.

Yeah, I've heard a couple of Tobymac's songs and they were okay- like the song that is on the radio a lot now, "City on our Knees" is all right, but I like other Christian artists a lot better.

"City On Our Knees" is epic, but yeah I don't like much of the rest of TobyMac's stuff.

The more I listen to City on Our Knees the more I like it, but I don't really care for much of his other stuff, either.

I just checked out the City on Our Knees by TobyMac (def not rap!) and I liked it. But check this out; it reminded me alot of Greyson Chance's 'Waiting Outside the Lines'. Listen to both and tell me I'm wrong.

Same with Tobymac. Sometimes I really question these Christian artists. Half the time it sounds just like the wordly music. Not all, but some. And the Christian "screamo"???! Blah!

Yeah, I agree. There should be a lot of a difference between the two. You should be able to tell the difference between Christian and "worldly" music, IMHO.

Yeah. I don't care for christien rap music.

Amen! I once saw a Christian band at my former church and I was SHOCKED. It was screamo. (I did not know.) It was "Christian", but half (really all) the songs I could find nothing in it the would define it as Christian. I was ramblings on about nothing really. Every now and then I'd hear something about Jesus, but rarely. It hurt my ears SO bad. I was not expecting that. The little popcorn like balls on the ceiling was even falling off. IMHO, Christian music needs a peace to it because God/Jesus is all about peace and peaceful things. So much compromise. We do not have to be like the world to draw them in. We are supposed to be set apart. God will bring the people in.
