Back when I posted Rachel's finished cross stitch project, I told you that I'd probably drag you all into my house to see mine when it was finished. Well.........I warned you! grinsmiley

I started this just before my littlest nephew was born. I took a year off working on it when he was very young, because he was so weak - we weren't even sure that he would survive. And now, thank the Lord, he's a healthy little five year old. And he just told me again that he's going to marry me when he grows up. Love

He'll figure out soon enough that things don't work that way.......but what an honor to have the little fella's heart.

The picture is about two feet tall.

That's awesome, Savannah!! I also cross-stitch, so I know how much work goes into it. You did a great job and thanks for sharing.

OH SAVANNAH!!! That is BEE-UUU-TEE-FUL!!!!!

My mother in law had their cabin decorated with lighthouses. They have such an awe about them, standing so tall and firm even in the storms of life.....

:shy: Thank you. There are a lot of memories in all of those stitches.

Oh - I forgot to mention the frame.....

It's an antique frame that I found at a yard sale about seven years ago. It had a hideously ugly picture in it, but the frame was so lovely that I bought it to keep for a future cross stitch project. Two years ago, I finished up a big project, but the frame was too large for it. So I took it to a frame shop and asked if they'd be able to cut it down to fit the project. The man looked at the frame and said "If you insist, I will......But I'd really rather not. They just don't make frames like this one anymore". So, I didn't have him cut it.

The frame and the motive go so well together... good that you refused from cutting the frame for the other project.

BTW: Now that this picture is finished, don't you think it's time to start with this "Go tell it on the mountain"-motive, you told us about in the old forum? grinsmiley

Your work is beautiful. I would love to be able to do that kind of work but I don't have the eyesight for those tiny stitches. Congratulations on finishing your project.

I LOVE to cross stitch, but I know how time consuming they are! As much as I would love to attempt one from the 'Gold Collection', I know it will sit unfinished for the next 20 years! Whistle

Congrats on this...what an accomplishment! I'm inspired now to start a new, 'less complicated' one! Keeps my hands busy in the evening so I won't snack! grinsmiley
