| He HAS done alot since LH. I notice he shares a birthday with Melissa Gilbert. I'm sure his southern accent got him a few of those roles. May I Have This Dance (14 March 1983) - Sarah Reed Carter FROM AN INTERVIEW SHE DID ABOUT LITTLE HOUSEI felt honored to be cast as Sarah, and to join a show I had admired as a viewer for so many years. I used to come home from teaching school in Portland, put dinner in the oven, and watch LH reruns while the dinner was cooking. I'd think, "That's the kind of show I'd like to do. Why can't I get on a show like that?" And I'd think in terms of getting on the show as a regular, not as a guest or co-star. Hence, I didn't think I'd ever be a regular on LH because it was already cast with its regulars, and was in its 6th or 7th season by that time. I had some natural concerns about joining an existing "family." They were a well oiled machine. In my mind they might not be interested in newcomers treading on their territory. After all, they had done all the work by then. They had made the show what it was, and is, today. We were walking into something that worked well. I felt extremely lucky, but wondered how we would be received. If any of the existing cast members had any reservations about us, they didn't voice it or show it in anyway. There were just open arms, lots of smiles and an immediate welcoming into the fold. The fun started the day we went to work and didn't end until we wrapped.LATER YEARS

| Subject: JOHN IRELAND Thu May 17, 2012 9:42 am | |
| JOHN IRELANDHe was in over 200 Movies and TV Shows….a very prolific actor. Born in Vancouver, British Columbia, he lived in New York City from the age of 18. He started out in minor stage roles on Broadway. A tall, lean former professional swimmer who once performed in a water carnival, he appeared on Broadway and toured in Shakespeare in the late 1930s and early 40s before entering film in the mid-40s. He made his screen debut as Pvt. Windy, the thoughtful letter-writing GI, in the 1945 war film A Walk in the Sun. This was followed by Wake Up and Dream in 1946. A supporting actor in several notable Westerns including John Ford's My Darling Clementine (1946) and Howard Hawks' 1948 film Red River (the scene between Ireland and Montgomery Clift, where they compare guns and take each other's measure by "walking" a can across the ground with their pistol shots, is a film classic). And a lead in small noirs like Railroaded (1947), Ireland was nominated for an Oscar as Best Supporting Actor for his forceful performance as Jack Burden, the hard-boiled newspaper reporter who evolves from devotee to cynical denouncer of demagogue Willie Stark (Broderick Crawford) in All the King's Men (1949), making him the first Vancouver-born actor to receive an Academy Award nomination. Occasionally his name was mentioned in tabloids of the times, in connection with much younger starlets, namely Natalie Wood, Barbara Payton and Sue Lyon. He attracted controversy by dating 16-year-old actress Tuesday Weld when he was 45. A prolific performer in films and early TV, Ireland had made the transition to supporting roles by the mid-50s, playing cynical villains in films like Vengeance Valley (1951), Gunfight at the O.K. Corral (1957) and 55 Days at Peking (1962). He also starred as an innocent man on the run in the 1955 original Fast And The Furious and had a key role as the gladiator Crixus in the Stanley Kubrick 1960 spectacle Spartacus, co-starring with Kirk Douglas. In 1960 he starred as Winch in the Rawhide episode "Incident of the Garden of Eden". From 1960–1962 he starred in the British television series The Cheaters, playing John Hunter, a claims investigator for an insurance company who tracked down cases of fraud. By the mid-60s, he was turning up as the star of B-movies such as I Saw What You Did. In 1965 he replaced Eric Fleming as the trail boss and older man character in Rawhide on American T.V. This was the last season for Rawhide. In 1967 he appeared on Bonanza with Michael Landon in the episode "Judgement at Red Creek". A few years later he again appeared with Landon on Little House on the Prairie as a drunk who saves Carrie Ingalls who had fallen down an abandoned mine shaft.Ireland was seen in Italian productions like The House of the Seven Corpses (1974), Salon Kitty (1976) and Satan's Cheerleaders (1977). But he did also appear in big-budget fare such as The Adventurers (1970) and as a police lieutenant in the Robert Mitchum private-eye caper Farewell, My Lovely. He was seen in the War of the Worlds episode "Eye for an Eye" in 1988. Ireland regularly returned to the stage throughout his career and co-directed two features in the 1950s: the acclaimed western drama Hannah Lee (1953) and the carjacking B-movie Fast and the Furious. He was married to: • Elaine Sheldon (1940–49), by whom he had two sons, John and Peter • Joanne Dru (1949–57) • Daphne Myrick Cameron (from 1962 until his death), with whom he had a daughter. In his later years he owned a restaurant, Ireland's, in Santa Barbara, California. He died of leukemia in 1992, aged 78. For his contribution to the television industry, John Ireland has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 1610 Vine Street. He was in two episodes of Little House The Winoka Warriors(1978)… Frank CarlinLittle Girl Lost(1976)… Wendell LoudySCENE FROM LITTLE GIRL LOST

| Subject: RICHARD BASEHART Thu May 17, 2012 5:11 pm | |
| John Richard Basehart (August 31, 1914 – September 17, 1984) was an American actor. He starred in the 1960s television science fiction drama Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, in the role of Admiral Harriman Nelson. One of his most notable film roles was the acrobat known as "the Fool" in the acclaimed Italian film La Strada, directed by Federico Fellini. He also appeared as the killer in the film noir classic He Walked by Night (1948), as a psychotic member of the Hatfield clan in Roseanna McCoy (1949), as Ishmael in Moby Dick (1956), and in the drama Decision Before Dawn (1951). He was married to Italian Academy Award-nominated actress Valentina Cortese, with whom he had one son, the actor Jackie Basehart, before their divorce in 1960. Cortese and Basehart also costarred in Robert Wise's The House on Telegraph Hill (1951). From 1964-68, Basehart played the lead role, Admiral Harriman Nelson, on Irwin Allen's first foray into science-fiction television, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea. Allen would go on to produce a number of sci-fi series in the 1960s and the highly successful feature films The Poseidon Adventure (1972) and The Towering Inferno (1974), earning him the moniker "The Master of Disaster." Although Basehart started his career as a film actor, he became best known for his role on Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea. Basehart was also noted for his deep, distinctive voice and was prolific as a narrator of many television and movie projects ranging from features to documentaries. In 1980, Basehart narrated the mini-series written by Peter Arnett called Vietnam: The Ten Thousand Day War that covered Vietnam and its battles from the Japanese surrender on September 2, 1945 to the final American embassy evacuation on April 30, 1975. He appeared in the pilot episode of the television series Knight Rider as billionaire Wilton Knight. He is the narrator at the beginning of the show's credits. He starred as Hitler in the 1962 film of that name. In 1971, Basehart played "Captain Sligo", a comical Irishman with a pet buffalo who negotiates a flawed but legal cattle purchase and unconventionally courts a widow with two children, played by Salome Jens, in CBS's western series, Gunsmoke, with James Arness. Basehart appeared in an episode of The Twilight Zone, Hawaii Five-O, and as Hannibal Applewood, an abusive schoolteacher in Little House on the Prairie in 1976. In 1972, he appeared in the Columbo episode Dagger of the Mind in which he and Honor Blackman played a husband-and-wife theatrical team who were loose parodies of Laurence Olivier and Vivien Leigh. In the feature realm, he played a supporting role as a doctor in Rage (1972), a theatrical feature starring and directed by George C. Scott. He made a few TV movies including Sole Survivor (1970) and The Birdmen (1971). Both were based on true stories during World War II. He was married three times. After the death of his first wife Stephanie Klein, he wed Italian actress Valentina Cortese (whose name was spelled Cortesa in American films). After their divorce, Basehart married Diana Lotery, with whom he founded the charity Actors and Others for Animals. Basehart died at age 70 following a series of strokes. One month before his death, Basehart was an announcer for the closing ceremonies of the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. He is buried at Westwood Village Memorial Park cemetery in Los Angeles. | James Vincent McNichol, III, known professionally as Jimmy McNichol (born July 2, 1961) is an American former child actor and the brother of actress Kristy McNichol. He got his start at the age of 7, acting in a Band-Aid commercial. He appeared in roughly 60 commercials between 1967–1973, including spots for Kool-Aid and Crest. He then landed minor roles in shows such as S.W.A.T. and Little House on the Prairie. He made his first movie, Sunshine, in 1973 at the age of 12. His first regular starring role was as younger brother Jack on The Fitzpatricks. Michele Tobin played his sister on the show, and they later reteamed on California Fever. McNichol sang the show's theme song, and in 1978 recorded an album with his sister, Kristy, produced by Phil & Mitch Margo. When California Fever ended, Jimmy was given the role as host of a weekly talk show, Hollywood Teen. He appeared in several successful made-for-TV movies, including Blinded by the Light which co-starred his sister Kristy. He made several low budget feature films before accepting the role of Josh Clayton on General Hospital. His love of music continued and he performed in a band throughout the 1980s under the name "Jimmy James". His last notable acting role was that of Jill Ireland's son Val in the movie based on her life. In the early 1990s James gave up acting and has been doing residential construction and rehab work. He continues to sing and conceive ideas for protecting the environment. His most recent idea was for an environmental program for kids, PlaneTView, to be hosted by sister, Kristy. The show was never picked up. James now lives with his wife Renee (married in 1997) and two children (a son, Nash, and a daughter, Ellis, born in 1998) in Southern California. In 1999, he was focusing on ecological education with a web site called ECOTV, was still performing with his band "Wizard King" and released a new CD, called Echo Warrior. | Born 21 March 1963, Burbank, California, USA Jill Schoelen was a husky-voiced "scream queen" heroine of the 1980s, daughter of well-known fashion designer Dorothy Schoelen. Born and raised in Burbank, she studied at the Acting for Life Theatre in Burbank and started off on TV as a teen in the Fame-influenced TV pilot called Best of Times (1981) (TV) starring the up-and-coming Nicolas Cage and Crispin Glover. She gained in experience with a number of innocuous films geared mostly toward the young, including D.C. Cab (1983), Thunder Alley (1985) and Hot Moves (1984). The dark-eyed, black-haired pretty with the trademark bangs wouldn't find her horror niche until hooking up with Wes Craven and his TV movie Chiller (1985) (TV). From there she scored big with the cult shocker The Stepfather (1987) wherein she played the resourceful stepdaughter terrorized by the lecherous, meek-appearing Terry O'Quinn as the title monster. The sleeper hit put Jill on the map with a seemingly solid future, continuing on with The Phantom of the Opera (1989), this time keeping company opposite Freddy Krueger inhabiter Robert Englund as her deranged pursuer. But a few bumps in the road with such lowgrade fodder as The Bite (1989), Cutting Class (1989) and Popcorn (1991) put a permanent damper on her career, despite coming back with a bit of grit in the thriller TV movie When a Stranger Calls Back (1993) (TV). Her object-of-a-stalker days behind her after filming Not Again! (1996), she settled comfortably back and raised two children with husband/musician/composer Anthony Marinelli. She was in one Little House Episode She played the blind girl who falls in love with Mr. Edwards “Love”– 1982 – Jane CanfieldDATED KEANU REEVES AFTER FILMING BABES IN TOYLANDENGAGED TO BRAD PITT IN 1988 - REPORTEDLY SHE DUMPED HIM | |

| David Huffman , born in May of 1945, was an American leading and supporting actor, though often underrated, he was a familiar face in films and on television in the 1970s and 80s. The great success he had achieved, was cut short after he was tragically murdered in 1985.He had been appearing on Broadway for a number of years and often seen in supporting parts in television films and shows. He became known after taking the title role in the 1979 made for TV historical film "Tom Edison: The Boy Who Lit Up the World". Huffman's performance led to a short, but successful career of leading and supporting roles in films such as "Ice Castles", "F.I.S.T.", "Blood Beach", "St. Helens" and "Firefox". He was married to Phyllis Huffman and had two children. In 1985, he was murdered by a thief in San Diego, California. After bringing cookies to say farewell to his "Of Mice and Men" cast-mates at the Old Globe Theater, he spotted and chased the thief (who had broken into a Canadian couple's motor-home) into a Balboa Park canyon. He was subsequently stabbed twice with a screwdriver. The murderer was sentenced to 26 years in prison in 1986. David was to begin the TV miniseries "North and South" the following week. He was 39 years old. He was in one Little House Episode Alden's Dilemma (1982) … Reverend Addison Hale who bought the house for Reverend Alden

| Ohhh, that rascal Addison Fisk. Stealing Paw's table design!?! I'd love to box his ears, give him a good 'what for' and do some other things that I probably shouldn't say on a family forum. (Calm down Joe, it's only a tv show.) "Willie, were you or were you not looking at the corsett ads in the catalogue?" - Nels | |

| Now Joe, you have to think things out. You know Charles would have never been able to stay in Minneapolis if the business would have been a success. Ripping Carolyn and the kids out of Walnut Grove again, no more Harriet Olsen, no more Nels and Willie. No more Reverend Alden. Leaving Laura and Almanzo. Putting up with Saloons and the like. Having to raise James, Cassandra, Carrie and Grace in the big city. No more talks with the kids out by the barn at night. No more fishing or jumping in the creek when the need arose. No more heart ripping scenes up in that loft. And worst of all, you wouldn't have seen Pa lovin those two sons of his at the end! It all worked out for the best! It always did! Stayin Home! That smile was somethin else!PS: THANKS FOR GIVING ME AN EXCUSE TO SQUEEZE ALBERT IN! YOU KNOW WHO MY FAVORITE IS! | |

| Kim Richards was one of the most popular and adorable star child actresses of the 70s. Kim was born on September 19th, 1964 in Mineola, New York to Kenneth L. "Ken" Richards and Sharon Kathleen "Kathy" Dugan. She made her TV commercial debut at four months in a diaper ad. By age four and a half Kim had already appeared in 20 TV commercials. Richards made her television series debut in 1970 on the show "Nanny and the Professor" (1970). Kim later had substantial recurring roles on the TV programs "James at 16" (1977) and "Hello, Larry" (1979). Richards achieved her greatest enduring fame as spunky psychic alien girl Tia in the terrific Disney family feature Escape to Witch Mountain (1975) and its equally solid sequel Return from Witch Mountain (1978). Kim was likewise memorable as an obnoxious little brat who gets brutally killed in John Carpenter's fantastic urban action cult gem Assault on Precinct 13 (1976). Among the TV shows Richards has done guest spots on are "Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color" (1954), "The Rockford Files" (1974), "Police Woman" (1974), "Little House on the Prairie" (1974), "Family" (1976), "Alice" (1976), "CHiPs" (1977), "The Dukes of Hazzard" (1979), "The Love Boat" (1977), "Diff'rent Strokes" (1978), "Project U.F.O." (1978), "Magnum, P.I." (1980) and "Medical Center" (1969). Kim was reunited with her "Witch Mountain" co-star Ike Eisenmann for the hilariously horrible made-for-TV horror howler Devil Dog: The Hound of Hell (1978) (TV) (Richards did a delightful career interview for the recent DVD of this film). A very cute kid, Richards grew up to become a strikingly beautiful woman. Kim played more mature adult roles in the mid 80s movies Meatballs Part II (1984) and Tuff Turf (1985) in which Richards gives an especially sexy performance as a teenage gang leader's brash and enticing girlfriend. Richards took a hiatus from acting to raise her four children Brook, Whitney, Chad and Kimberly. After a regrettably lengthy absence from the big screen, Kim Richards made a welcome and triumphant comeback with a fine portrayal of Christina Ricci's bitter estranged mother in the excellent Black Snake Moan (2006). She's the sister of fellow actress Kyle Richards -- they appeared together in The Car (1977) as James Brolin's daughters -- and Kathy Hilton, who is the mother of Paris Hilton. Older sister of Kyle Richards. Younger halfsister of Kathy Hilton. Mother of Brooke Brinson and Whitney Davis. Father: Ken, who died in 1998. Mother: Kathleen, or Kathy, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in the same year. They separated in 1972. Aunt of Nicky Hilton, Barron Hilton, Conrad Hilton, and Paris Hilton.Sister-in-law of Rick Hilton Made her acting debut in a diaper commercial when only four months old. Made 20 TV commercials before she was even four and a half years old. Richards current boyfriend, Maine entrepreneur Todd Jason Voisine, has been instrumental in Richards' "comeback career" as she has begun appearing in public more frequently of late. They met in 2009. Daughter of Kathy Richards and Ken Richards. Her younger sister, Kyle, appeared in 19 episodes of Little House as Alicia Sanderson Edwards(2001) Moved to Arizona to be with mother, who had breast cancer.
