MissOleson's thread about movie music, and one of Dave's replies, got me thinking about TV theme songs. So, what's your favorite?
I always liked Cheers:

You have a point, Krissy! I am honestly trying to think of one that I really like and I can't come up with any current ones off the top of my head. I'll have to think on this.
I have to share one of my top fave shows, and an iconic theme song if there ever was one.

Maybe not everyone's cup of tea, but the Buffy theme rocked out, man.

Love that emoticon, Rob. My boys think I should get into Buffy...they never expected that I would love the X Files, so they now think my weird tastes might branch out that far. Did you watch Angel with David Boreanz too? Wasn't that the spin off? I think both the boys liked that one as well.
My mom's favorite!
And speaking of 'cup of tea', Rob, here's Downton Abbey!

I'm betting you'd love Buffy. It was an amazingly well-done show that really drew you into it. It had a lot of heart.
I never did watch Angel. Not sure why.

Oh, I'm late coming into this! Amy - yep! You know me well. Scarecrow & Mrs. King was/is such a favorite of mine! And several of the theme songs posted or mentioned have been favorites of mine over the years, too. Oh, and Downton Abbey's theme really is lovely! But doggone it! Now I want to watch some new episodes!
I love Monk's theme song:
And Avonlea's theme song changed a little from season to season - but this is pretty much what it was throughout the series, after season one:

I'm going to have to just try it. Right now the boys have me watching a show called "Nikita". WOW, is it good. They have the first 2 seasons on netflix, and season 3 just started. I really think you'd like this one Rob.
Lisa, I never missed Scarecrow and Mrs. King!!! I'll never forget how when they finally got Lee & Amanda together I didn't really care about the show anymore. Classic TV show suicide!! That's why I loved XFiles so much, not so much for the science ficition....Mulder & Scully's bond/friendship just kept growing and growing through NINE seasons and you always 'knew' it was 'there'...much more special than anything else I'd seen on TV. They definitely knew how to make you tune in each week.
Monk is such a great theme song! And Miss Oleson, I loved Wild Wild West!

I'll have to take a look at Nikita, Amy.
MissOleson, do you remember that they made a second opening for Wild Wild West? Something different happens to the lady in the lower right. Very politically incorrect.
