| Anytime they add edgier to a show, I'm skeptical of it. | |

| I doubt it would be any good. I understand you be skeptical about it. “Tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it... Yet.” ― L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables | |

| I'm actually looking forward to it. Highway to heaven had cheap acting at times this could be more like Touched by an Angel | |

I'm hoping so, Jacob, but Mark Wahlberg is an action star and produces some gritty stuff. And things have changed a lot in terms of what's acceptable prime time television. I was just reading an article today about a current prime time show (2 Broke Girls). I watched a minute or two of an episode and they said something about the Jonas Brothers I wouldn't even dare repeat. The FCC is getting complaints about this CBS sitcom that is on at 8:30, when many kids are still awake. Yes, it's up to the parents to control the TV, but shows like that need a later time slot.

This is how I'm feeling about it. I will have to tune in, just to see (I really like Mark Wahlberg), but I have to wonder if this is going to be more like one of those prime time mystery or detective shows with 'an angel' involved. - bethandmanly wrote:

That's for sure...just ridiculous! Our friend's daughter who is in middle school was over the other night and she wanted to watch "How I met your Mother". That was on at 8:30! Seriously? It's all about sex! She said her mom lets her watch it. Hmmm. Just ridiculous that these shows are broadcast SO early nowadays. It's when I see a girl of 13 watching shows like this and worse that I really have to wonder what will happen with our future. I turned it off and put on Road to Avonlea for her and she liked it! LOL!

| I can't stand 2 broke girls. That show is so stupid. I've only watched a little bite of it. It's not shocking how all shows today are about "Sex". If I was 13 my parents wouldn't let me watch half the crap that's on today. | |

I was so hoping for a good clean show.

I agree with you on that one. It's like the remake of LHOTP that was made several years ago. It wasn't bad, but it just wasn't the same. I couldn't imagine anyone but Michael Landon as Charles! I might tune in to the Highway to Heaven remake to see what it's like, who knows maybe it will surprise us and be better than we expect.

When my cousins were younger they couldn't even watch Spongebob and Rugrats because my aunt didn't want them repeating some of the jokes that were said on those shows. Maybe some parents aren't aware of what's going on, on shows like this 2 Broke Girls or Two and a Half Men and the like. But I do agree with you, parents should say 'you can't watch that' when an inappropriate show comes on, instead of complaining later on that their child watched something they shouldn't have.
