[Note from Carol regarding Editing] Since I do the Episode Reviews, I have been given acces in the Episode Reviews forum to edit, move posts so that all posts regarding an episode stay together. If I post an episode review that has some post already started.... instead of me using the quotes feature... I will just edit the first post of whoever started the thread about that episode to include the pictures of the episodes at the top of the thread. That way, all comments and posts remain in their original form. [End of Carol's Note]
"THE MONSTER OF WALNUT GROVE"
Laura's imagination runs wild on Halloween when she thinks she sees Nels cut off Mrs Oleson's head. Laura tells Nellie and Willie what she saw. Since the Oleson kids know that their mother is really out of town, they decide to scare Laura a little bit more. Everything is straightened up when Mrs. Oleson comes back.
This was a scary episode. I mean, if I lived in those times I would sure be shaking in my pants or dress... lol Now, if we get scared, we can quickly flip a switch and turn on a light to make sure we can see... but in those times... when all you had was a lantern or matches, I'm sure your imagination could run wild with all these shadows and crazy ideas in your head! LOL
Boy, Laura sure got Nellie & Willie good in the end... that head rolling down the stairs was freaky!
I always get a good laugh from that episode. LOL! I love when Carl thinks he's holding Laura's hand, and he realizes it's the dummy's hand. When he runs away, the dummy follows. LOL! It had no choice. It was attached to him! LOL!
what got me at the end was we see the headless horseman he's suppose to be in sleepy hallow not walnut grove
Well, you know how it is with men.......they never stop to ask for directions. Okay, okay......that wasn't really the problem. See.......he actually ended up in Walnut Grove because. . . . well. . . being headless makes it rather difficult to see where you're going.

this one was funny. I knew that Nels could get annoyed by Harriet, but cut off her head? I don't think he'd go that far! but this episode almost proved me wrong!

This is an awesome episode! Halloween is my favorite holiday. Nels was such a gentle soul... Like he would really kill his wife. But it shows how easily your imagination can run away from you.

What an awesome episode!
I liked how Nellie and Willie turned it into a prank on Laura and Carl and then Laura and Carl turned around and played a prank on Nellie and Willie.
Carl: "She'll be on the stage." Laura: "She can't be." Carl: "Why not?" Laura: "She hasn't got a head."
Laura: "I don't know how to tell you this..." Nellie: "Use your mouth."
I love Willie's expression when he sees the apron and then his expression again when Nels tells him its sauce. Willie does such a great job!

the end was scary. Seeing Laura's reaction when Nels chop off dummy's head thinking it was Mrs. Olsen. Not my favorite. But, it's ok to see from time to time.

This episode is one of my top 5 faves. I liked the departure from seriousness.

I get creeped out after Mrs.Oleson lights a match and is peeking in the store.

Also, the part where Laura throws the dummy's head down in the celar creeps me out.
