“THE BULLY BOYS”

The Galinders, a new family in Walnut Grove, cause trouble for the entire town. They buy items from the mercantile and lumberyard, promising to pay up in a couple of days. The town gets angry when the Galinders don't pay their bills. On Sunday, Reverend Alden tells the Galinders that they must leave Walnut Grove.

I just have to say I can't believe Bubba hit Mary like that! mad And isn't Ms. Beadle supposed to be watching the kids? lol I guess not all the time... I loved it when she got back at him though and it's a good thing all the rest of the girls woke up and went after him too!

Poor Charles... he got beat up pretty bad by that big brother... If I were Charles I would have done the same thing too! I loved how he showed his concern over Caroline and you could see him start getting angrier and angrier as he realized what those men had done to his wife.

One thing I remember good about this episode is the scene towards the end. We are all used to seeing Reverend Alden be peaceful... but boy did we see another side of him when he grabbed one of the Gallanders and pushed him against the wall! I think Mrs. Oleson was about to faint because you see Nels fanning her with the bible! :haha:

I've seen up to the first parts of Season 5, and I must say this one is just about my Favorite!!!!! It ranks up there with 'Fred' and 'The richest man in Walnut Grove.'

I couldn't believe Bubba would hit Mary like that, either! But I sure loved it when she hit him with her lunch pail!!!! Then watching all the other school girls watch him knock Mary and Laura to the ground, then them ganging up on him!!!!

Definitely a all-time Favorite!!!

They did a terrific job with "The Bully Boys," creating a triumphant ending while still maintaining belief in "There is good in all people." Amazing. Great episode.

This is a very good esp.I mean to this day iam sure we all have or had to deal with "Mean" people like this..The question is how do we deal with them? But poor everybody on the show geting hurt by the mean people..I like how they all know how to offend them selfs.I mean fighting is not the answer but sometimes no other way out.like at the end how they all came together to get the men out of town.

Exactly...I specially like Reverend's Alden final speech, when he makes his point and they put the "bully boys" out of the town. Thumbsup

Yeah, Charles got beat up pretty bad in that one. What was he thinking taking on the two of them? He did it again in Winoka when the bouncer and his buddy were harassing Mary and Adam. At least Jonathan got them back in that one.

I knew as soon as they started harassing Caroline, with her eggs-it was all over for them. "You're a handsome woman. Soft, too."

This a very good Episode. It shows sometimes you need to stand up to mean people like that. & you can slove problems with no fighting.

not my favorite. But, a good lesson for everyone. Mary was strong beating up Bubba. Then, the other girls starts attacking him. I was cheering on the girls. Charles, should have bring Isiah with him, to beat The Bully Boys. I guess Charles, thinks he can beat up the two guys. I didn't like, what the two older bully boys, did to Caroline. I was glad, she escape before things got worse.

I don't mind this one. I don't go out of my way to watch it, but Charles blowing a gasket over them touching Caroline, his disagreement with Reverend Alden, and the ending, make it a good one in my book.

Not that I like to see Charles and the Reverend at odds, but I feel the times that they were made their relationship more realistic.

The Galendar boys were great villains. People you love to hate. I knew they were done when they touched Caroline, though.

Not so rare. They disagree when a tornado distroyed Charles dreams in "Going Home".Pa was angry toward God, for he said something over the lines that He wuldn't allow such a disaster to happen. Of course, Reverend Alden strongly disagreed to it.

Later there were other two little disagrements when they discussed Mary's going blind, and James fate in "He was Only Twelve"-
