| Awww, Daisy is so cute. I love her red bandana. Spring is finally here, the lovely pink blooms on the "spray" tree outside my window are gone leaving a beautiful willow. | |

| I actually have a pet question....my parents are going back to see a dog at our local Animal control tomorrow---we saw him today and he is quite the lover. He is a cockapoo....does anyone have one of these? This is not him....He looks a lot like this, only gray: LOL! He looks like a little teddy bear! I think he may be a diamond in the rough...he's about a year old, but is very matted and unkempt. If they adopt him they'll be taking him straight to the groomers! I was just wondering if anyone has one or knows much about them one way or the other. I researched online today and it sounds like they have some good attributes. He was a total lover...very affectionate and willing to please. My dad has allergies so I know they're good for that. I think he's a good match for them! If they end up getting him, I'll post a pic. And LOL, I do believe my mom won't be able to stand the hair in his eyes, so I'm sure she'll be having that trimmed. “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

| Well, you're not going to believe this Savannah, but my parents came home with a completely different dog! I still love that Cockapoo (and LOL, they trimmed the hair above his eye since yesterday!), but they fell in love with a Pomeranian mix. I've never been fond of those, but she IS a mix (we think possibly Border collie), and she is a little lover, and SO cute!! She's between 3 and 5 years old and is very docile. They are completely attached to her already, and she to them! However, there was a little 'surprise'. They took her to the vet, and discoverd she is PREGNANT!!! Now, she is supposed to have had a physical before she was ever adopted and gets like three or four shots. I don't know HOW they missed this pregnancy; she is due in less than two weeks!!! We all thought she had a few pounds on her to shed, that's it! My parents have never cared for puppies before, and are pretty freaked out about all this, but they're actually thinking about taking on the challenge. I am in shock...I think we're all just numb right now. I told my mom I'd help as much as I can. We're going to see about the babies being born at the vet---the idea of the delivery really scares us, because it can be dangerous. All expenses SHOULD be paid by the shelter (considering my parents didn't know they were adopting a pregnant dog!). The ultrasound has revealed 5 puppies. I think if anything, my parents seem pretty excited about this, which is shocking to me, LOL! They're being more laid back about it than I would be! I am really upset with the vet at the shelter, for missing this. That is a BIG boo-boo. And my parents didn't catch it because she is a hairy dog and it's not like they flipped her over to examine her belly, LOL! They got her from Animal Control, not from the Humane society where a spay is required before you adopt. They just tell you at Animal Control that they WANT you to get the spay, and they'll refund the money when you get it. My parents would have done it immediately! It is a shame...why oh WHY don't people spay or neuter their pets?!?! I'm feeling a tad guilty, considering I was the one that FOUND this dog online! SHE was the one we came in specifically to see yesterday, but she was so withdrawn and seemed depressed, so we passed on her. Well, today when they came back to see the cockapoo, a volunteer was walking her and she was perky and seemed friendly. So my parents told the volunteer they'd come yesterday to see her, and could they take her for the walk? It was an immediate love connection and I can see why. She is a total sweetheart, very trusting and loving already. My parents feel like she's going to be worth all this trouble. I really hope she is, because this is not what any of us bargained for!! I will post a pic when I can. I had one, but they've already taken it down from the shelter website. “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

| I went with my parents on Saturday to return the dog to the shelter...they have a 'hold' on her for them. Right now, there is some question of the danger she may be in if she delivers the puppies, because she is small, and at 5 (which the vet thinks she is), she is considered an 'older' mother. They are closed today, and we're due to hear something tomorrow...this all has to go through the director of the facility and they will make the decision, along with the vet. It was hard to return her, but my parents assured the shelter they DO want her, but they don't want all the 'baggage' they hadn't bargained for, including the expense! I guess we'll find out tomorrow! “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

| Thank you Alice. LOL---Lacey definitely does not look happy! My dogs hate baths too...they're about due too; I just put it off for as long as possible! “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

| Well, here is an update on my parents' new dog... Here she is...the vet thinks she might have some Corgi in her: She had her puppies last Saturday! 4 boys and a girl! We really lucked out...the vet's office that originally saw her and diagnosed her as 'pregnant' called the animal shelter and said they wanted to foster the dog and her pups! So she is now in the best of care! Two or three of the nurses there want to adopt a puppy too! So my parents are just waiting out the 6-8 weeks that it will take to bring Sophie home (they changed her name--none of us were fond of "Peaches", and she already has learned it!)....so it's taking longer than they'd planned when they originally signed up to adopt a dog, but I know she will be worth the wait! I may be going to visit the puppies this week, so I'll get pictures of them then! “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

| Aw, I think so too Rob! She's even cuter in person---you can tell she's a little scared there, with her ears back. At my parents house she was happy and relaxed. The pics I took of her there though are on my mom's camera. She IS a little cutie...I can't wait to see what her puppies end up looking like! There's no way to know just yet what they're mixed with, but hopefully we'll know soon---puppies grow fast! “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

| I sure am missing her! I can't believe we have to wait about another month. I haven't seen the puppies yet---it's been too busy a week with activities at my son's school. Next week maybe... “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”
