| :fyi: You should be able to delete it in your options section. Check if you have one listed and then click delete or cancel. |

| I don't know why. I have had yahoo accounts and could always close those. Even when I had a hotmail years ago I could close it.
Must be a reason why you can't. But I would not know why that would be. |

| Close your Account
To deactivate your Windows Live Hotmail account, click Close account. All stored messages are permanently deleted and incoming e-mail is refused.
Your e-mail address is reserved for 120 days after closing your account. After that time, it may become available for other people to use.
To reactivate your account once you have closed it, sign in within 120 days. |

| I just robbed this thread to let you know I received a scam email at one of my Hotmail accounts that said due to their servers being overloaded hotmail would be shutting off inactive accounts. It went on to say that I needed to verify my log-in information, date of birth, and country of origin. This scam has been going on in some form since 1999 according to Snopes, so don't fall for it. Good grief, one of these days I hope these people get a life. | |

| I remember getting an email when I was on aol about how they wanted to update my bank account and to send information to them. LOL! NOT!!
