| So I know there is the saying "TV these days is not what it used to be"... and yeah that is true to some extent.... but most of us now have either cable or sattelite programming and access to channels like TLC, Home & Garde, The History channel where there are so many good and interesting shows! Last night I watched one that was called "Life After People" and it shows what would happen to earth if one day we humans were just to vanish. It was very interesting. Here is the webpage that talks about it. Life After PeopleIt was interesting to see how cities who were once filled with activity would be transformed into forests! *Imagine what would happen in YOUR area if that were to happen. What would happen in your case personally? In my case, my 2 poor dogs would have a chance of survival since they are medium and one is large sized... they could most likely dig their way out of the fence and go out to get food, I think Rocky (the husky) would have a better chance of surviving than my other one who is getting up there in years. He seems to be very protective of her now so I wonder if left alone ... I would hope he would act the same to keep her safe. I know the mice we have in the backyard would invade the house. And the lawns would grow out of control... | |

| I watched this last night too, Carol. It was very interesting.
In 150 years cats will be living in high rises, eating mice and birds. They'll be living the "high life", lol.

Last night they were giving one that talked about 75 years after people.... the last show I saw stopped at 20 years and started wondering.... Well, what about all the plastic, etc! lol.... I think they will air the show again this saturday..... I agree Pam, it's really interesting to see!

| Oh, that sounds very interesting! Yeah, I'm thinking our dogs might be in for it too---they're quite prissy girls! So is this one actually on TLC, Carol? I'll have to record that Saturday night. Thanks for the infol! “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

| No, this program is on The History Channel.
It was really interesting how they mentioned Chernobyl. It shows us the city of Pripyat, Ukraine--the site of the 1986 Chernobyl disaster--for a first-hand look at a place from which people left suddenly, and to which--even more than 20 years later--they still have not returned. History.com brings you the full story of the nuclear disaster that forever changed this former Soviet city.
They showed a woman sitting on a stadium where it used to be packed full of people watching the soccer match... now... the view of the stadium looked like a little forest...

| I think this is also a good way to scare us and a scared person can't act. Sure, I should not like to see our world distroyed like that...But what can I do, since I'm not in charge of any influent nation? I can't even manage my own family! Innocent people around the world cannot stop wars nor declare them. THings are going very wrong, but not because of us, poor people who works every day, and does the better we can do. Shows this kind of documentaries to presidents...Maybe they can do something more than trying to find little stupid causes to fight among themselves and send us to defend them with our blood and tears. The only thing they can do showing these images, is getting us scared to death without knowing what to do. If we believe in God, He didn't allow the world He created to be distroyed. Vanesa. | |
