Good song Jake. I didn't think I'd ever see this thread again except to find it and go through what was said and played, but not in the active threads again. Good on you!

Buddy Holly, by Weezer. I always thought this was a clever video, the way they inserted themselves into an episode of Happy Days.

A change of pace. This is Eva Cassidy singing Sting's beautiful Fields of Gold. This was recorded live in 1996, just a few months before Eva died of cancer at the age of 33.

Also from 1996, this is Eva doing Autumn Leaves. Wow.

Wow, the Happy Days one was so cool! That is clever.
Fields of Gold totally made me cry. It's beautiful in it's own right, but knowing about her dying just a few months after makes it all the more poignant.
Ironically I borrowed an Eva Cassidy CD from the library just a couple months ago. My favorite song by her is Kathy's Song:

Ahh, Kathy's Song... one of Paul Simon's really pretty early compositions. Eva did a great job with it. And I love her guitar playing.

Beautiful...Just beautiful. . . . Did you know that she was also an artist? Here's an archive of some of her drawings and sketches....And I think she did paintings and sculpting, too.

Eva Cassidy has an excellent voice. I've loved her music since I first heard it.
I know I shut down the thread, but Jake had the love for you folks to resurrect it, so here's another one. Hope you ladies have a great day at work or school, or taking care of your children;

Rob, somehow I missed the song you posted. I like that! And I like the sentiment, too. That's how I want to age - embracing each stage of life that God gives me with joy, and living every moment to the fullest, rather than pining for the years that have already passed. Thanks for posting that!
Jacob, the song you posted is both beautiful and heartbreaking all at once. Thank you for sharing it.

Hmm, for some reason I missed that one too. I agree with every word you said Savannah. Great song Rob...I can see why she's one of your favorite songwriters! I'd never even heard of her before!
Larry, there's no one like Stevie Nicks. She'll always have a special place in my heart, as she was the first concert my hubby & I went to together, back in 1989. She put on quite an amazing show. My favorite song by her is Landslide.
