Damis.........

GOT A JOB!!!! Applause

He got a job where hubby works at the Nixon-Smiley C.I.S.D. He started on Friday, March 7th and he's working outside (maintenance) and inside (custodial work). They started him at $6.50/hr and he is happy (so are the parents!) so all is well.

During Spring Break this week, he works 8-5 and during school, after school until 5 and full time during the summer.

We had given him a choice that if he wanted to drive (he has an old pickup), then he had to get a job to pay his own insurance/gas, etc. I just thought I'd share.

) My son will be 18 in June, but we haven't wanted him to get a job because we felt like his grades might suffer (he has 3 A/P classes)...he's a Senior and I would hate for anything to drop at this point. But I was thinking the same thing, spring break is the perfect time for him to get a job! We may just follow your lead! Wink

Incidentally, Larry, we were sort of figuring out how much he would make and then I introduced taxes. He didn't like that a bit! grinsmiley

Oh well. I'm gonna make sure and welcome him to the real world happy1

It figures, he got a letter yesterday from school saying he will be in tutorials in preparation of TAKS for a month from Monday - Thursday from 4-5. So, I imagine during that time he will work on Fridays after school only until they are over with.
