| Wishing him well, Misti!
I think it's pretty awesome that he's got a focus and direction and he's willing to pursue it either which way. A lot of people spend their whole lives looking for that. "Only if you've been in the deepest valley can you ever know how magnificent it is to be on the highest mountain."

| I'm sorry to hear he didn't pass, Misti. It's too bad they couldn't test him a different way because many people don't do well on certain types of test questions, although they understand the work, because they have a hard time comprehending the way some tests are done. For example, one of Devin's friends didn't do well on written tests, so they allowed him to take a test verbally.
I think a tutor is a great idea because they would be able to help him prepare for it and can maybe go over examples of the kinds of problems he was struggling with.
Thanks for updating, Misti. I was wondering too.

| Oh, I am so sorry to hear he didn't pass Misti. I know you were counting on that!! I like the tutor idea before the fall test---could do wonders! - pamh36 wrote:

Thanks for updating, Misti. I was wondering too. So SO true Pam. It really is a shame that there aren't other ways of testing. I know my friend has said the same thing about her son---he is so very bright, but just doesn't 'test' well. We're all 'built' differently, and our strong suits aren't always the same as what the next guy's are, you know? Heck, I remember those math story problems clearly---I was terrible with those! I just feel so badly for Damis....taking and re-taking a test over and over can really take its toll on a person's self-confidence.
