| I was sad she was let go too. Antonella should have gone and the other girl stayed. Antonella seems like a snob. My favorite is the single mother. She is the best person I have ever seen on that show. She really knows how to perform. I hope she wins the whole thing because of that and for her daughter.

| I've been watching since season 2, I don't know why I keep on watching...it's like watching a bad accident. Anyways, my favorites include Chris Sligh and hmm...I like Lakisha too, as well as (ok, why can't anyone leave an impression on me!)...There were so many that made the top 24 that I never got to hear during the auditions or the H-wood rounds. I have to admit the beat-box, a cappella of that BeeGees song that the quartet of guys did during H-wood was awesome! ~Cindy |

I agree with you there, JW. I thought Bailey was really good and had lots of potential. It seemed like Simon and his crew decided that forgetting the lyrics was reason enough for dismissal, and when she blanked out for a few seconds, they dropped her. Why dump a perfectly good singer for such a minor mistake? Don't get it. :sad5:

| Yeah, Lakisha tore the roof off the joint. She was terrific.
I also liked Stephanie Edwards. And I liked the girl who sang the Celine Dion song. I think it was Haley. The judges blasted her, but I thought she did fine.

| Paul Kim and Amy (don't know her last name) were voted off tonight. I am very surprised and sad to see Paul go, he wasn't that bad last night. He has a great voice and I hope he will go somewhere with his voic.

| Anybody see Idol last night? I thought Melinda was the best. She really nailed "My Funny Valentine." LaKisha's rendition of "Midnight Train to Georgia" was just a notch below her performance last week, I thought, even though I'm a huge Gladys Knight fan.
I liked what Satan's henchman Simon Cowell had to say about Melinda. He said that so many people in the music biz have enormous egos but not enough talent to back it up, but Melinda is just the opposite - a fantastic singer who doesn't seem to know how good she is. Quite refreshing.

| I saw the guys perform but had to work last night and missed the girls, but my daughter said the same thing about the girls not being as good as last week. I believe they will get rid of Sanjaya and my daughter thinks Antonella might get voted off. We'll see what happens. I admit it, I'm hooked on this show!! | |

| Which girl is from San Antonio, Misti?
Anybody see the girls tonight? LaKisha and Melinda were amazing! I'll probably root for LaKisha because she's from Flint in my home state. That city is going nuts for her. They'd love to see a local gal go all the way.
Did anyone else think that Simon was unnecessarily mean to Haley? He said she was forettable, and told her that halfway through her song he turned to Paula and asked what Haley's name was. And then he was saying, "Really, does anyone remember her surname?" That was nasty. It's one thing to tell a singer she didn't do a good job, but you don't have to humiliate people.
Of course, Simon's tirade will very probably backfire. People will cast more votes for Haley than they otherwise would have because they feel sorry for her.

| Oh my word......that's just cruel. Someone who demeans other people in such a manner must be a truly miserable human being. I hope it does backfire and give her lots of votes. | |

That's exactly what happened. Haley is still on the show. But it's kind of a double-edged sword. Because she got to stay, another singer who was probably more talented had to go. Two big surprise vote-offs tonight - Sabrina and Sundance. Sorry about Sundance, Misti. But there's still Haley the Texan to root for.

| I haven't watched my tape yet, but I'm not too surprised that Sunjaya is still on. He must be getting the teenybopper vote. But I am surprised at Sundance and Sabrina's elimination. Oh why do I keep watching this show??? At least I have Melinda, Lakisha and Blake to cheer for. Whee ~Cindy |

Oh, that's really too bad. I mean, I'm glad that the young woman who was treated so poorly had a chance to regain a little dignity. But it's too bad that someone possibly more talented didn't get a chance to stay. Maybe the publicity from being on AI will give her the boost that she needs, though.
