New season of American Idol...

Who will be watching? I, for one, am not. Newest judges named include Nicki Minaj (cannot stand her) & Keith Urban joins Mariah Carey. No thank you! (At least I believe this is the new lineup).

I'll stick with my Survivor, season premier on Wednesday!

Misti, is Mariah going to be there for sure? An article I read said that Randy is staying on.

'The Voice' premiere was on last night. Great singers there, sure but I still think these 'instant' fame reality shows are indicative of the instant gratification syndrome that a portion of Americans are caught up in.
I'm guilty of it. When I want something, I want it now. What does that say about us as a culture?

I started watching The Voice for the first time last week. Kara wanted me to watch since a girl she graduated with is going to be on. So far she hasn't yet, but I'm watching for Sylvia Yacoub.

I don't know anything about Nicki Minaj (although after Rob's quote I don't think I need to know much more ), but I do like Keith Urban. I am so over Randy and my dad had told me something about that he is moving on, but apparently not. I think Mariah may be a decent judge. (Rob, I think there are going to be 4 judges again. ). As usual, I may have to watch for awhile just to see what I think of the judges. I could not tolerate J Lo or Stephen's gushing attitudes so that was not doable for me. Give me Simon any day.

Yep he is, Rob. He was going to stay on the show, although not on the panel, as a "mentor" but then they changed things up & he back on the panel. I think four judges are too many. I miss the days of just Randy, Paula & Simon!
