Great job Lisa! I know exactly what you mean about the soft lighting. Its tough to work with, but it can be done. I'm sure they are very pleased with it. I can see why all that hair was a challenge. Its big AND got highlights too!

  Eek! I'm so sorry I missed all of your lovely comments! This has been such a crazy summer with Mom at the hospital, and then at the rehabilitation center for physical therapy. I totally forgot that I'd even done that drawing above.   Thank you all so much!!

My Aunt Kathy stopped by yesterday and Mom asked me to show her Capt. Picard....Aunt Kathy is an artist - though she hasn't painted in years - so it was very heartwarming to hear her say that she thought it was "amazing".   Of course, she IS my aunt, so she could be biased. But it was still very nice to hear!

  When I was tucking away the files for Capt. Picard above, I noticed that I hadn't updated anything about the Andy Griffith Show collage I'd been working on. I finished that this spring, just before things really got crazy.

Then I had to switch over to the left side, because I couldn't find a good screen shot of Helen to work on - and she was supposed to go in the lower right corner. SO, next came Floyd:

The last two were the hardest to find just the right picture to work from. Helen was hard to find smiling, and Goober was so over-the-top, it was hard to find a "gentler" picture to work from!

My sister-in-law, Krista, entered it in a small art fair for me this summer while I was at the hospital with Mom, and I had told her that it likely wouldn't do well, because the judges are VERY picky about framing - and I hadn't had a chance to put a nice backing on it. But I thanked her for entering it for me, anyway - I thought that was really sweet. A week later, she sent me a photo of a first-place ribbon on my drawing at the fair! Her next text said, "Would you like to see the OTHER ribbon it got???" And she sent me a picture of a Best of Show ribbon!!  I was SO shocked! Very pleasantly so, but definitely shocked!

So there it is - the finished project.  

I love this one!!! And CONGRATULATIONS on the winning ribbons!
