YOU DESERVED THOSE RIBBONS LISA! You put such love into your work. It shines through and I know you don't do anything you don't feel good about. I hope I can mirror that in my work too.
I know how hard it is to find just the right photo too. I have been wanting to do Michael Landon for over a year but haven't found just the right photo yet. Sometimes the work begins in the search THEN the drawing itself.
CONGRATS!! I love to see it framed. That was a wonderful choice. NOW you need to frame those ribbons next to it.

My brother is a HUGE Elvis fan. I thought of doing one for him too, but the last time I bought him an Elvis poster he opened it and said : " Thanks, but I'm kind of over it now." I didn't believe him for a second, and it wasn't long before he was showing something Elvis again.
But before I do one for him he is going to have to ask me to. *wink

I have several aunts who are huge fans of Elvis, so I may have to figure out how to do prints of that one when I do it. HeeHee

Just a short background about this little fella... loveheart

This is baby Thomas. His mama wasn't expected to be able to have children at all, so he is quite the little miracle. He had to be taken early because the pregnancy was so high-risk, but he made it through! Every time I worked on this portrait I wanted to kiss his little face. Such a doll baby! He's my friend, Dina's, first grandbaby, and she doesn't know about the portrait yet. I'm mailing it to her tomorrow as a surprise. I can't wait to see if she likes it!!

The portrait arrived safely yesterday, and Dina sent me a text message telling me how much she loves it, and that the portrait had captured Thomas exactly! *happy sigh* I got the text when I was on lunch at work, and I couldn't have been more energized when I went back to working after that!

On a side-note....Do any of you have a big (or even just a really clear) picture of the scene in Anne of Green Gables when Matthew & Anne are returning from Diana Barry's house after Anne saved the little baby's life? The one where they're in a sleigh, and it's winter. I think I may draw that scene - or maybe the one where Anne goes into the barn to show Matthew how the puffed-sleeves dress fits her. There are so many good scenes!! But I want to do a drawing of Anne & Matthew. I loved their relationship. Any other suggestions for good scenes with Anne & Matthew?
