| Rose definitely was a good descriptive writer although not necessarily a rated G one. But... real life isn't always rated G is it? Rose has grown on me a bit in the last year. She WAS Laura's daughter and I love Laura so I can't help but love Rose, too; especially after reading the Rose years. Rose was her own person and couldn't pretend to be anyone else. I admire that in anyone. Some folks are just a bit rough around the edges but they're still God's beautiful creation! | |

| I guess I should add that I've picked the book back up later. I have to be in the right mood for the right book. Same with movies! | |

| I just didn't like Rose's style of writing. Like it was mentioned, to each their own though. |

I really like this one because Laura is communicating with Almanzo while they're apart. Gee, sounds like a good fan fic idea. Hmmm.....

| That's an awesome list Susie. If you ever see The World Of Little House, I highly recommend it. It's my favourite. I love the floor plans that they have drawn of each little house, makes it easy to imagine what they all looked like. Each one has beds of patchwork quilts that were lovingly stitched to keep family members warm. | |

| Wow, I didn't know, their were so many books from little house on the prairie. Is the Caroline Years The story about Caroline the mother or Laura's sister?
We also collect The Rose Years. But, we don't have the whole series. Only three books, we own.
We got all the Little House series books. But, some reason, Little Town n the Prairie is missing or store away in bin, down in our basement. I'll just buy it @ the garage sale or thrift store. It's better to have two copies, instead of one copy.

| Farmer Boy was published second, but I think chronologically it is considered the 3rd in the series, making LHOP the 2nd book. | |
