Alphie, THAT'S IT!! Is that from the early 80's? Gee, I thought it was my son's, but maybe it was MINE! :haha: Or it could be I had bought it at a garage sale for him or somthing.

That was just the greatest movie! Too bad the sequels stunk!
My first date movie: Top Gun
Back in the days when Tom was normal.

Top Gun was by far his best movie. LOL, Amy! Yes, back in the day when he was "normal," and not such a complete freak!

I wasn't alive in the 80's but alot of my favorite TV shows were around then. Like The Cosby Show, Full House, Growing Pains, The Facts of Life, and Family Ties.

The original Alphie came out in the late 70's, so Alphie II is probably an early 80's thing.

I never got into the fashion of the 1980's......I was in my 20's during that time, married at 21 and had my kids at 26, 30 and 31......so....as I see what was in the closets, I'm glad I didn't get into the fashion.....

You have great taste, EllieJane! The only one of those I never watched was Full House. I never missed any of the others though!
*EDIT* Savannah, I forgot to mention, you KNOW I love your avatar and sig!! Last I checked that STILL wasn't released on DVD! I so need to own that series!!! That was one I never missed, and then it was a classic case of a show going downhill once the two leads get together. They were just so darn CUTE together though!

Some more throw-backs to the 80's:
I had this, along with some other Texas Instruments toys---it was the "V-Tech" of its day!
And this place was THE place to be. I'm STILL a Toys R Us kid!
This movie totally freaked me out---I couldn't possibly think this little toy was 'cute' after seeing what these evil little things did!
Here's a commercial a lot of us surely remember. Oh boy...longest minute ever: (sorry don't know how to imbed video yet)
This new TV station with Martha Quinn was ALL the rage. Um, I seriously got an education from this:
And more 'education'---Boy George:
It wouldn't have been the 80's without Duran Duran:
George Michael:
And of course this guy and a little album entitled "Thriller"
I have to mention Kermit. Best....Frog...EVER. And I seriously (ask my mom) wanted Miss Piggy's wardrobe. The pig was one sharp dresser. And, it was through this magnificent couple that I learned that opposites really do attract.

Hi, Savannah! did you really have a pony tail on the side of your head back then? I did! Ha-ha!
I certainly did! And what's worse is, I thought it looked good, too. :Hahaha:

:Hahaha: I'll PM you again. But don't expect anything wonderful. Any PM that I send out tends to be as boring as I am - and there are several people here who could back me up on that. (But they're too sweet to actually do it. )
Okay....Now, I wanna know what some of your favorite tv shows were in the 80's. Obviously, one of mine was (and still is) Scarecrow & Mrs. King. (Amy, it isn't available commercially yet . . . But, a friend of mine was able to obtain an archived version of the series on dvd. I have no idea what that means. But she has the whole series on dvd. She said that it's "80's reception quality sometimes" but I can ask her where she got it if you like.) I also loved Remington Steele, Murder She Wrote, The Cosby Show, MacGyver.....There were a lot of good shows in the 80's!

I liked screcrow and Mrs. King, too! I had also liked Bruce from How The West Was Won. I liked MacGyver, too. But I think that's about it... I'm more of a movie watcher than a TV watcher.
Micah was playing this evening! It made me so happy! Now if he can just feel good again tomorrow!

Oh let's see... How about wearing a T- Shirt with big shoulder pads- sleeves rolled up and the "tail" tied in a knot on one side? :shy: Oh, and... big hair bangs of course.

:Hahaha: The shoulder pads back then! I'd forgotten about that.
Big bangs, for sure! And the turned up collars. *rolls eyes* What a sight.
Oh....and hot pink. :Hahaha: Jelly shoes, too! Parachute pants....acid wash jeans that sometimes got just a little too much acid on them.....

If you look to the right of the video screen on YouTube for the video you are watching, there is a code line that says "Embed". Just copy and paste it into the text box and it will work.
Funny thing is...I remember this commerical. And the kid complains his computer won't help him do his homework. Gee, baby, how far we've come.
