| I couldn't get a poll to show up in my post, so I decided to just post the question without the poll: what's your favorite LHOTP episode with Albert Ingalls?
if you respond to this, please tell why the episode you selected is your favorite. I just want to see what everyone says. thanks!

| I have to agree with Samantha...I love this episode; it is such a tear-jerker, yet conveys a message of the need to respect those who are older and wiser, and those who have different belief systems than our own... I'm sure there are other Albert eppies that I really like, but this one sticks out big time for me right now. | |

| "The Craftsman" is a good one, but the one that immediately comes to mind is "Fagin". This is the first episode after the return from Winoka, but what makes this episode so great is the final scene. After Laura wins the calf contest at the fair, she announces that the award really belongs to "my brother, Albert". And then, Albert and Laura hug while Charles remarks, "My kids! My kids!" What a great scene! | |

| The episode where Alberts biological father tries to claim him! Makes me cry every time. I feel Albert's mixed emotions. He was such a good little actor. | |

This is my favorite 'young Albert' one too. I cry every time I see the end of that episode. LOVE it! Can I pick a favorite 'older Albert' epie? LOL, it's just too hard to pick one, you know?! I would have to choose Look Back to Yesterday as my favorite 'older Albert' episode. I loved Home Again too, but it was so hard to take, watching Albert like that, I just can't pick it as 'a fave'. My third favorite would have to be the Craftsman though---what a plot and what a special young actor!!

| as Amy said, my favorite "younger" Albert episode was As Long As We're Together because I got to see how the Ingalls family met Albert, and Matt Laborteaux was rather cute in that one :shifty: if I had to chose an "older" Albert episode, I would also choose Look Back To Yesterday because even though it was so sad, it was also important, and Matt did some great acting! the same with Home Again, even though Albert went through such a hard time, he came through in the end to give that memorable speech in the schoolhouse! you can see by my keepership that the speech Albert gives in that episode is my favorite Albert moment | |

| Oh, that is a wonderful speech Kristina, I agree. And I love your keepership! Ugh, I 'lost' mine when I went to put in a new signature for forum Friday parties...can't figure out how to put it back now...mine is "keeper of Albert's fishing pole". I DO love As Long as we're together too!! That scene where Charles goes to get him out from under that stairway! To think of the joy he must have felt! I just love that one. | |

| Ok....here comes the tomatos. I like Sylvia. :electrecute: I know this was a different episode, but Albert's love for Sylvia was real. He had learned what real love was with the Ingalls and he was loving her even though she was not carrying his child. He knew that child would need a home and love, just as he had. Sorry....I'll come out of hiding shortly....lol. It is the lack of Christianity that has brought us where we are. Not a lack of churches or religious forms but of the real thing in our hearts. | Aw Gin, no tomatoes from me! Aside from the creepy clown mask and the dark plot, I like Sylvia too. Well, mostly I just like Albert in the episode. I would have liked the character of Sylvia more if she didn't have to say "Oh Albert, my love" .... “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

you can see by my keepership that the speech Albert gives in that episode is my favorite Albert moment Kristina, not only do we have great names but I think we also have fabulous taste in favorite actors and Little House episodes It's tough to narrow down one favorite Albert episode, so I'll do what some of you did too - my fave "young Albert" episode would be Fagin. Albert was becoming a real part of a family for the first time, but was willing to give that up b/c he thought he was hurting Laura. I love the ending - so sweet! For an older one, I think I'll go with "Look Back to Yesterday" - so sad, but I love his speech in the classroom about memories and there was alot more great acting and some great Albert/Laura scenes. His acting in "Home Again" also gives me chills - I could go on and on!
How about a favorite Albert funny scene? It seems like he was always getting one over on Mrs. Oleson - the bee hive incident and Mr. Holbook's book immediately come to mind for me. "It is still best to be honest and truthful; to make the most of what we have; to be happy with simple pleasures and to be cheerful and have courage when things go wrong."

| I don't think anyone has mentioned the episode (sorry I do not know the title) where Albert gets hooked on morphine(?). That was the first anti-drug episode I can remember watching as a wee lad. I haven't seen it in over 30 years so I hope I'm not making an ass out of myself. There was such an episode righhhttttt? Oh, and I am so glad I found this forum. | |

| I liked a lot of Albert's episodes. But the one image I love, the one that will drive me to tears everytime I see it, is the very last time we see him. You have Albert (who is weak, dying), and Laura, climbing that mountain. They reach the top and all the children back away from these two. That image of them raising their clasped hands always makes me cry--I think because it showed how much they cared for one another. That was always special to me. |

| Yeah, I always liked the Albert/Laura relationship -- from the time they first met in Winoka to the scene at the top of the mountain. There are many great Albert and Laura scenes, but my favorite is probably at the end of Fagin. | |

| I am still looking for an answer in regards to the episode where Albert replaces doc's supply of morphine with sugar. Just saw the episode where he gets thrown off the carriage and has to take morphine for the pain. ('promises kept' I believe) Anyone? | |

Just saw the episode where he gets thrown off the carriage and has to take morphine for the pain. ('promises kept' I believe) Anyone? The episode where Albert gets addicted to morphine is "Home Again", a two-part episode from season 9. The one where Albert falls out of the wagon when Mr. Edwards is drunk is "A Promise To Keep", from season 8.

| Thank you jes9. Was it ever discussed as to the reason Albert got hooked? Was his leg still bothering him? Out of all the episodes I saw as a child, the one where Mary goes blind and the 'Home Again' episodes are the ones that stick out the most. | |

It's been a while since I've seen it, but as I recall Albert was getting into trouble and hanging out with a rough crowd in Burr Oak, and Charles wanted to take him to Walnut Grove for a while hoping that would do him some good. I think Albert had done morphine while in Burr Oak, but I could be wrong about that.

Hmm, I'll go with Fagin since it's the first episode that centers around Albert in Walnut Grove. I love the ending when Laura finally accepts him as her brother. Seasons 5 and 6 are the best, IMO, because I enjoy seeing Albert and Laura together. I have to agree with you with the opinion that seasons 5 and 6 are the best because Albert and Laura are together. there were still some quality scenes from later seasons, such as many parts of "Look Back To Yesterday", but those earlier seasons were some of the best!

| Favorite epiode was Fagin. This is really where he became Albert Ingalls. There is a scene in the barn that for some reason has been cut out of most of the versions I have seen on you tube and the Hallmark channel where he asks Charles if he can call him "PA". Just wish I could find a version that still had that scene in it. "Albert, do you REALLY think you are old enough to know what love is?" "I must be Pa. I love you, I have for a long time." | |

| Hard to choice only one..."As Long as we are Together" is among my favorite little Albert's episodes, because it was the moment that both, the Ingallses and Albert discovers how much they loved each other. Then, it's "Fagin", since Charles realizes he wants to be called "Pa" by Albert and the little orphan was aware for sure that he considered the Ingalls family , his own. And what about "Teen Albert"? I think it's not among everyones fav's but I should choice "Looking Back to yesterday". In it, Laura and Albert showed a genuine and true sibling love and how special their relationships were. It's on the Australian DVDs that scene. | |
