| So I did a search, and I can't believe we don't have a topic on this! Now, I love this show as much as the next guy, but I have some shows I just can't stand. What brings this up, you ask? I just did some channel surfing and clicked on Hallmark Channel. Lo and behold, I hear the dreaded, "GO TELL IT ON THE MOUNTAIN"!! :sing: Ohhhh noooooooooooo!!!!!!!! It was just TOO late! Nothing I could do! Now I'm going to have that song stuck in my head for at least two day! Seriously, besides the song, I really don't like this episode. Can't think of the name of it---I guess I never bothered to find out. I have some others I don't like, but I'll wait and see what you guys have to say. What are some of your "least favorites"? (Sorry if this is a duplicate thread...I know we've talked about least favorites before, but I'm not sure there is one specific thread for it).“Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

Oh my gosh, Savannah you are SO right!! I actually LIKE this episode (I love angst and drama) but it was so unrealistic that Mary would do that. There's a nice statement to make about blind people...you lose your eyesight, and your natural parental instincts. And not just Mary, but Adam too! LIKE he wouldn't be concerned where the heck is own baby was?! Shame on the writers for that one. “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

Yeah, the fact that Mary did not take her baby out of the fire, but Blanche the orangutan took baby Rose out of the fire... says something about Mary... My least favorite episode: THE OLDER BROTHERS I cannot even finish watching the episode... :BatHit:

| I will be called a hypocrite after this. I loved LH until the Carters, Nancy, and Jenny Wilder moved to Walnut Grove; it just didn't have that pioneer storyline anymore to me, it was more of a comical show with Mrs. Oleson was depicted as more of a clown...LOL. I prefer watching the early episodes. Make We Make Them Proud is one of my least favorite episodes!! There were so many wrongs in this one. Like some of you had already mentioned why would Mary put her baby down. Also, why would Alice tell Mary to put her baby down? And then, when Alice was banging on the window, she could've thrown the baby out, I'm sure someone was out there to catch it, she could've jump out too...it was only 2 stories high. I would rather see her with broken bones than dead. Oh well, could've, should've, and would've. It's just a bad writing in this episode. Yep! I agree with you. |

I haven't seen every episode but I didn't see the sense in this one! Talk about the stuff nightmares are made of! Yeah, real family fare!

| I know what you mean! I wouldn't let my niece and nephews watch that episode, because even as an adult I find it disturbing, to say the least. I SURE didn't want my little Rachel seeing Mary's baby die in the fire. She sobbed her little heart out when she saw Roy Rogers get shot in an old western - and he was okay afterwards! If she saw a baby die on Little House, she'd have nightmares for weeks. | |

| The Halloween Dream is my least favorite episode. The Older Brothers is a close second. Next on my least favorites list would be For the Love of Blanche, The Legend of Black Jake, and He Was Only Twelve. Oddly enough, The Godsister isn't one of my least favorite episodes. It's not one of my favorites either. | |

| For the Love of Blanche tops my list, but The Legend of Black Jake, The Godsister, The Halloween Dream, The Older Bothers, Gambini the Great and The King is Dead are not far behind. | |

| Lets see... Sylvia, The Godsister... hrmm... To See the World. One episode with Johnny was enough! Fight Team Fight.
In general, my least favorite episodes are the ones that only have one main character visiting elsewhere. I'd say though that these are my least favorite.
I kind of like The Older Brothers. Part of it though is the music.
There are also some that I don't like because I think they're just plain out dumb and have no point, such as The Halloween Dream.

Apart from the fact that it was way too far fetched, it's the last ever episode with the Ingalls. I'd have thought Michael Landon could have come up with a more believable storyline that could have allowed us to say goodbye to them and them to say goodbye to Walnut Grove. I totally agree Maureen. How disappointing it must have been for viewers back then when Season 9 started and everyone except Charles was gone.

| Oh dear Lord, don't get me started on May We Make Them Proud. Of course anything with John (it's my shack and you aren't welcome in it") Carter. Sylvia is way too depressing and I was always wondering what was ML thinking to make such a "dark" two parter about rape. | |

Oh, I know. How terrible! The rapist and his mask, the mean dad, the death... It could have been such a sweet story! Maybe ML was attempting to keep the so called "adult" crowd happy?

- And Carol!! What an excellent point! I haven't seen the Blanche episode since I was a young girl, so I hadn't even made that connection. But you're so right!
And you're probably better off that way! LOL I don't dislike that episode as much as others, it's just kind of odd...the same way an episode like The Legend of Black Jake is odd. (Although, I do find that one amusing). I dislike "The King is Dead", "The Circus Man", "May We Make Them Proud" - I'm assuming they wanted Hersha Parady's character to go out with a bang, but there were SO MANY THINGS wrong with this episode! This is one I don't watch. Also, "Sylvia". I don't have to say how much of a Matt fan I am and I thought his acting was spectacular (as always), but this episode was depressing, scary (particularly when seeing it as a young girl - who hated clowns to begin with, LOL), and dragged out. With these 2 episodes ("May We Make them Proud" and "Sylvia"), these were some pretty big events happening, and they were pretty much never mentioned again, so what was the point of them in the first place? That being said though, even the *bad* episodes of LH are probably better to watch than some of the junk that's popular on TV today. "It is still best to be honest and truthful; to make the most of what we have; to be happy with simple pleasures and to be cheerful and have courage when things go wrong."
