In the San Joaquin Valley... there is a debate going on because the government has shut down the water coming from the delta. As a result more than 500,000 acres of farm land will be dried out soon. This catastrophic fallowing of land does not include hundreds of thousands of acres that will be taken out of production as a result of the San Joaquin River Settlement. A lot of jobs have been lost due to this. They have shut if off because there is a fish that lives in the delta that is in danger of extinction.
But come on now....
I want to hear what you guys think about this.

Ummm, catch the little critter and put him in his own personal aquarium....I recall the same thing happening in Glamis, a desert in Southern California that a lot of campers with dunebuggies, motorcycles, and 4 wheelers go to play......There was a lizard that was in danger and they decided to start closing off portions of the desert.....strangeness.....

What the heck are the people in government thinking?! I have seen how farmland that was once fertile now dried up because of this...
Here is a video that talks about it... absolutely insane...

How do they know that someone hasn't already caught that fish and fried him up for dinner. That is nuts!
If the government would eat more fish they would have the brains to make a better decison than that..........!!!!

Ok, I'm all for conservation. However, who's to say they'll cause the extinction of some exotic dung beetle by cutting off the H2O?
Problem is, conservationists try to save the animal without looking at the big picture. As someone said, some dude prolly caught it and is digesting it right now.
And a man-made drought over this....fish?
Sometimes I'm proud to be American, sometimes I think "Wtf is my discharge for? 18 years to protect a...fish."
If nobody's ate it yet I will. With hush puppies. Then turn the water loose.

Wtf stands for World Treasury Fund, folks. They're heavily involved in funding this fish thing.
Sorry about your discharge, Larry.

That is so sad! Those poor farmers. I don't want my veggies and fruit to come from another country that could possible be tainted.

Hiya Gin! Long see no time! lol
And you and Rob think you're some funny individuals, don't ya?
But I STILL wouldn't cut off valuable farmland for a...fish. A 10 lb bass...maybe. But some fish I never heard of? Nah.
Oh, and I'd still want water to the farms. I'd just wanna catch that 10-pounder first.
