Wow! Either Picasso was already beginning to experiment with asymmetrical faces, or ol' Angel had been in a fight or two.
I'd much rather have a Savannah original:

Amy, no kidding!! I can't even imagine. And if I HAD $52 million hanging around, there's no way I would/could spend it on a painting when there are so many people I could help with that kind of money.

That's downright ugly. The person who spent that much was crazy.

I know I've hauled this out several times, but Jean-Michel Basquiat's Sugar Ray Robinson sold for over $7.3 million in 2003.

Here it is being sold at auction...

Well, people...I must said I would be considered almost a stupid...for I don't like Picasso!!! Really! I accept he was a great artist, but I just can't force myself to like his assimetrical faces and wierd figures...I'm a huge fan of Goya and would like to have one of his originals in my house. I'm also a fan of the XVIII Century painting masters. I'm quite a classic "prairie girl" .
52 millions for that!!!?? I wouldn't pay it. And yes, Savannah. Your works are great. Very suitable for my personnality. I wish I could have one of your artworks hanging in my room some day!
As for Basquiat's "painting", all that I have to say is:
Vanesa.

Thank you, Vanesa!!
Rob, I have to say....I just don't get it. Doesn't it seem that a piece like that would be pretty easy to copy? Why pay nearly $50 million for something I could ask Oliveah to paint for me for free - and at least it would have a sentimental attachment for me then! Orange rectangles.....I don't get it.
Oh, Vanesa....I don't care for Picasso's work, either. Cubism is completely beyond me. I don't understand the appeal. And his work outside of cubism is just as odd to me. I much prefer paintings that actually look like . . . . things and people. Go figure.

Maybe persons who likes it are only snobbish. They doesn't understand what art is, but they would said they liiked Picasso for "you just couldn't said you don't like his work"...right?
But independent minds always said what they really thinks, even if "most of people" wouldn't agree with them.
Vanesa.
