| That is great Julia. I think animals do think of us as something to work on, and make happy. They show it by how they keep track of us all the time. Its so sad to think that as hard as they work to do that they are often the ones that are mishandled. Hugs your animals today and let them know they are doing a great job with you!!
It is the lack of Christianity that has brought us where we are. Not a lack of churches or religious forms but of the real thing in our hearts. LIW.....Words From a Fearless Heart

| Well, I watched it as a kid during its original run. Yup, I'm just that old. I don't remember much about it from back then, though. I started watching again when it came out in reruns during the '80s. | |

| That is so beautiful. I love that it's written from the dog's view. I wish I could adopt a houseful of them, but sadly, two shelter dogs will have to do. I wish more people would think to give a shelter dog (or cat) a second chance, rather than go for the expensive purebreds. So often, it's the most minor thing that can make a person waiver from adopting a shelter pet....many times it could be corrected with only a little bit of training. - Savannah wrote:

SO true. I love that more facilities bring in 'therapy dogs' for the elderly....they can be such a source of comfort. We all need to 'nurture' something, especially older people whose children and grandchildren are grown. My mom and dad adopted a dog from our "Animal Control" about 8 months ago....with my mom's grandchildren all grown now, "Sophie" has taken up residence as the apple of my mother's eye now. Sophie had a difficult past (she's a small dog, but was an 'outdoor' dog' and was obviously neglected ) , but has been re-trained is, and although she's 'needy' still, she has found the right owners who enjoy giving her all the love and attention she needs. She's great therapy for both my parents too. Studies show that just the act of stroking a pet can result in fewer health problems, such as lowering high blood pressure and lowering high cholesterol. Amazing!
