| I just finished reading Ana's Story by Jenna Bush. It is a great story based on her work with UNICEF. "All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them." -Walt Disney | |

| Emilyanne....I've read The Meeting Place as well as the rest of the series. WONDERFUL! I only wish I could discover them for the first time again. They are so good. Let me know how you like them. | I am now reading "The Shack" by William P. Young. SO far its awesome. It talks about a families loss and how God shows them the way to healing. I've only read 4 chapters but its packed with alot. It is the lack of Christianity that has brought us where we are. Not a lack of churches or religious forms but of the real thing in our hearts. LIW.....Words From a Fearless Heart | |

| right now, besides a Laura Ingalls Wilder book, crazy as it seems, I'm reading books for tourists about Washington DC because I'm going there next month! there's a lot to read in those books, but I keep reading the same thing over and over again about the monuments and museums! so I'm not sure if that exactly counts as reading the book | |

| "Marwan" by Aram Schefrin it's a 9/11 fictional autobiography of the happenings of September 11th from the terrorist's POV. Not something I would choose to read, but it's for a client.
I'm having a hard time with it. Not only because of the cultural differences but because I haven't been able to watch or read anything about that day since it happened. It hit a little too close to home and I spent too many days afterwards glued to the TV set watching the news. I've bought books about it, like Rudy Guiliiani's biography, "God at Ground Zero", and a couple others, but I just haven't been able to open the pages. | |

| Well Jaccob, there's just no telling who would like his books! George MacDonald is my favorite author but he's not every one's cup of tea. Even I, have to be in the "mood" for MacDonald. Sometimes I need something lighter. I rarely read 2 of his books back to back. In fact I started one 2 nights ago but my mind was wandering so I put it down and started another Rose book. If my mind wanders when I read a book, then I put it down. George was a Scottish preacher turned writer. His message was not accepted in the the pulpits of his day so he turned to novel writing as a way to get his message across. Although his books are entertaining, they also have a purpose. George wrote quite a few famous fantasy novels mainly for children but I've never been into fantasy. I read his historical novels which mainly take place in Scotland. Most of the novels I read by him are very deep, wordy and some would say dark because of the time period (1800s). I've only read one that was a little too dark for my taste but even then, I couldn't put it down! I read the edited/revived versions put out by Michael Phillips although I have read a few originals. There is always some element of mystery in his books with a very light touch of romance. (No "love" scenes) There's things like castles, hidden rooms, Lairds, inheritances, peasants, hills of heather, dwarfs, huge old musty libraries, Clan feuds and usually a ghost thrown in there as was common and even expected in that day. Well, that's probably more than you wanted to know... :shy: | |
