| I was watching Come Let Us Reason Together on YouTube today, and I realized something I never thought of before. When Nellie and Percival ran the hotel and restaurant, they lived there. But when Willie decides to flunk out of college to marry Rachel, they move into the Wilder's Boarding House, which is miles outside of town. Why would they take on that expense and why would they want to live so far out of town? The restaurant served breakfast, so they would need to be there early.
I know I'm thinking about this way too much, but humor me.

| I never thought about it, but I guess it's another of those weird LHotP inconsistencies and mysteries. It seems I have a question like that after watching many episodes. For example, I just watched "Dance With Me" from my DVD collection, and I had to wonder whatever happened to Toby Noe and Amanda Cooper? I don't think they were ever mentioned again. | |

| Yes. And this single word resumes all the answers we can have about this issue. Ohhh, poor Harriet! And poor Willie and Rachel! Vanesa. | |

| Yeah, I get that, but logistically it made no sense. | |

| It kind of makes sense to me when you consider Harriet's mean-spiritedness and determination. Anywhere in town, Harriet would be sure to pester them non-stop and try to control everything, and they wanted to build a relationship together. Maybe the cost and distance were worth it to them for the peace they gained. | |

I know it would be a no-brainer for me. (And of course, there's always the reason that the show need to 'fill' the new boarding house with people we know. )

| Yes, Amy. And I think that this was exactly the same reson because they moved Isaiah to the new board house and took away Matthew. This was hearthbreaking for me, for it's like poor Mr. Edwards must remain always alone and saddened. Vanesa. | |

| Matthew was a character I did like in the last season (did he only enter in the very last season?). I like that Willie and Rachel lived at the boarding house. | |

| The last character to enter in the show was Mr. Montague, right after Matthew did. I think it was a pity that Mr. Montague only entered there the very last chapter of season nine. We only had the chance of seeing him again in the last three movies who closed the show...Some people considers those three movies as "Season Ten"...What a pity we couldn't see Mr. Montague's character developpe more and more thourough the show...Just like Matthew. Mr. Edwards didn't deserve to loss him to, as well as he had already lost Grace and the children... Vanesa. | |

One word: Harriet. I'm sure that's what Rachel thought! She made Marrie on Everybody Loves Raymond like a good mother-in law. LOL

| ANYBODY IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD MOVE FURTHER AWAY FROM HARRIET OLSEN IF THEY HAD THE CHANCE. WILLIE WA A HECK OF A LOT SMARTER THAN PEOPLE GAVE HIM CREDIT FOR! AS ISSIAH EDWARDS ONCE SAID, "HARRIET OLSEN WOULD MAKE A TRAIN TAKE A DIRT ROAD." I WOULD HAVE COMMUTED FROM SPRINGFIELD EVERY DAY IF IT MEANT GETTING AWAY FROM HER................................ | |

| I know Cheryl...they would have had to get up at 4 a.m. just to get there to serve a 6 a.m. crowd. BUT, I do understand being young married folks they would want their own place to call their own. MY mom is Harriet in modern day....I'm live 500 miles from her. It is the lack of Christianity that has brought us where we are. Not a lack of churches or religious forms but of the real thing in our hearts. LIW.....Words From a Fearless Heart | |
