I like this episode a lot. It's great to see the rough-edged loner Mr. Edwards, who always had a lot to offer, settle down, marry Grace, and create a loving home for the children.

What was the poem from the show? I know I just read it somewhere, I think on this board a couple weeks ago, now I can't find it. It's probably staring right in my face. :shy:

I love that poem! I cried so hard when Rev. Alden read it out loud, without mumbling Here on Danish tv they showed the first part yesterday and I can´t wait to watch the 2nd part next saturday. Even though I know how it ends with the children. But I can´t wait to see how they work it out. Can´t recall watching this episode before...

I know. I cried so hard at the end. It was so heart breaking listening to John Jr saying goodbye to his little sister... And you´re right. Alicia was soo adorable. I almost cried just watching her. She had an amazing stare. Her eyes looked so sad and depressive. I kept thinking: God most grown up actors can´t act that well

I thought this was a really sad episode. I was glad when I finally saw both parts of the entire episode. I didn't want Alicia, Carl, and John Jr. to be separated so I was really happy when Isaiah and Grace got married so they could adopt the three children

This one is my favourite episodes ....Such a gambit of emotions from all cast members . To climax with Mr Edwards wedding was an awesome finish.
I remember Kim Richards (alicia) in the series Nanny and the Professor i think
cheers

Yes. I'm interested in it too, since in the books, Mary would wear ALWAYS braids and I like to portrait her on my mind with the face of Melissa Sue Anderson.

Loved the video, Alex. Mary looks great in braids, her smile looks lovely when she is wearing this kind of hairdo .
I love the puppie "Mine". Alicia and her puppie are both the cuttest little thing in this world.

Watched both parts of this one tonight. It is really an excellent episode. In fact, it is nearly perfect to me, except that I know something from a future season that kind of messes up its perfection. (I don't know if everyone here knows what happens in the future, so I don't want to spoil things for anyone if they don't know.)
I think it is nice that they did not make the spinster lady mean or evil or anything. I think she would have given Alicia a good home, but I think it is so nice to see that she is happy for the children even though she won't get to adopt Alicia at the end. I would have been more concerned about the boys having to do all that farm work, since that man seemed like he wanted to adopt them mainly because they could work for him.
I especially love the dramatic acting that we get to see from Victor French in this episode. He was really a fine actor, both comedic and dramatic.

I agree. It's *almost* a perfect episode. But yes, it should be spoiled for what happened some yars later in the show. I wouldn't tell what you are referring to, because as you've said, someone could have missed some parts of th show and maybe they didn't know what happened in the future. But I must add that poor family Edwards experienced more than a hard moment after Grace and Isaiah's wedding.
Yes; Victor French is a great actor. He could make you laugh hysterically or cry.
