| Hello all,
I would appreciate it if you could keep me up in prayer. I haven't had a period in two months. I'm not pregnant and I could pretty much count to the day when my period would start up until now. I went to the OB/GYN today. They are going to test my thyroid, prolactin level, and also give me an ultrasound because I was tender on my right side. The doctor thinks I might have an ovarian cyst. Of course with my mother's history of breast cancer, I am at a higher risk for ovarian cancer, so I'm a bit nervous about all this.
Thanks.

I know it; though my cycle is usually as regular as it comes and is rarely affected by that. Thanks Rhonda and David. I appreciate it.

| We women have enough on our plate without the girly side of us getting off routine. Hope its only stress and the prescription is to just go relax and read a good book. Hugs and prayers Cheryl. It is the lack of Christianity that has brought us where we are. Not a lack of churches or religious forms but of the real thing in our hearts. LIW.....Words From a Fearless Heart | |

| Thanks ladies. It's a scary thing. One I don't take lightly considering my mother. I'm glad I have all of you praying with me. It comforts my soul. | |

| I will be praying too Cheryl. I can imagine how frightening something like this is, considering your mom's history. My mother-in-law died of ovarian cancer, and my sister in law ended up having a hysterectomy at an earlier age than most, to avoid getting it. It was a difficult decision, but she's grateful to have that worry taken from her now. I pray that, as Gin said, this is something minor. And perhaps just a perimenopausal symptom? Did they say anything about that? Please keep us posted! | |

| Thanks Amy. Perimenopause is the first thing that crossed my mind. I'm still young, but who knows about these things. He asked about hot flashes and stuff, which of course makes me feel like I'm 70.
A couple of years ago when I was having that genetic testing done, I told my husband if it came back that I tested positive for the mutated gene, everything was going. I would much rather do that than hold onto my reproductive organs. I guess I don't really care for the fact that my childbearing years are probably behind me. It's silly, as I'm not eager for more kids--looking more forward to grandbabies--but I can't help it.

| It could be what you saids, but maybe only stress. My mother was almost four months without having the period. There was no cyst, no cancer, no any real problem with her health. The doctor said her that since she had lost her best friend by a sudden heart attack, the impression had been so hard that her period went away. The doctor didn't give her anything to take (no pills, I mean) and just say her that menstruation would began again when she could cope with her friend's death. And it was this way. She never had any problem again. I'll be praying for you, anyway. Vanesa. | |

| Thanks Rob. I had my blood drawn yesterday and the ultrasound is Monday. I didn't want to waste any time, as I'm a bit distracted while I consider the nasty things it could be--which is counter productive, since stress can cause problems too.
Hey Jacob, sorry I missed thanking you earlier. I was rushing. I appreciate your prayers.

Yeah, I hear ya. We have awhile befor menopause, hopefully, but Perimenopause can start in the late 30's early 40's. I've had some things go haywire hormonally lately and I'm wondering if my time has 'hit'. Ugh. - bethandmanly wrote:

I do know exactly what you mean, Cheryl. It's not like we 'want' more, but there's something 'comforting' knowing they're there. Praying for good ultrasound results!!!
